After her first bath she opened both eyes and looked lovingly at her mom. How she loved her hair wash!
A winking eye for grandma when she gets there to spend the day with my two girls!
Both eyes looking at the new bright world. When we think about her coming out of the dark of the warm womb into the bright world of light.
One minute she was crying, but when that gentle warm water hit her head, she was instantly content and loved her hair wash.
Peaceful contentment in her face as she gets her hair washed and rinced.
As close to a smile we can get at one day old.
A pretty nice head of hair for a month early. How she loved having her locks combed, too!
Snuggle time with mommy after her bath... "She's looking at me!" So sweet and we are amazed at how wonderful she is doing. She is nursing wonderful from the start, and that is so important for mom and baby. Our love for her is huge!
The words of the Gospel today are so important to us as we live in our domestic Church/family. “I have told you this so that my joy might be in you
and your joy might be complete.
This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.
No one has greater love than this,
to lay down one’s life for one’s friends..." John 15
Such a tender moment for mother and baby girl, who is doing so wonderful after a pregnancy of worry and prayers and trusting in Him!
So often I find myself praying for this exact thing that Jesus tells us today - "That we may love and forgive unconditionally as you have loved us, O Lord." Wouldn't that be an answer to all of our difficult situations in our marriage and family? "Wounded, I will never cease to love." the motto of our Community of the Lamb is another way to pray for and accomplish this hard commandment from our Lord. He needs to help us and show us how!
The kids are so excited to know that mom is most likely coming home with their new sister this afternoon! I need to find a tabernacle to pray for my priest friend, Fr Denny, with 7 sisters today!
I just googled a Catholic church near to Maria at the hospital and it is St Patrick's - super excited to go there to pray today! So many memories are flooding me as St Patrick's Cathedral was so important to us while Patrick was in NICU after a traumatic birth - Maria's rupture while trying to Vback and Patrick without O2 for minutes - born dead and brought back to life! Grandma baptized baptized him at a hour old in NICU at Divine Providence Hospital in downtown El Paso!
So easy... reading and eating a meal while nursing or resting on mommy. She just loves to be by mom. So peaceful and happy to have the birth now behind and both come through it so wonderfully.
2 year old Hector was my laundry assistant last evening... none cuter than this guy!
No more clothes to fold so it makes a fun play place for Hector.
I folded clothes for the first time!
Big brother 8 year old Patrick and 2 year old Hector... never alone here.
Just got word that they are coming home at noon today! Lots of cheering to know that mom and new sister are coming home to this big busy house on base! Jesus how we love you and long to be able to return the love that you give us unconditionally! Our world would be peaceful and joyful and we long for that. Jesus may we die to self so that you may live in us! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
