A year ago today on my wonderful porch with my dad and baby Birdie held by Rose Again. Dad had been living with me for 5 weeks and the pandemic made dad's foretelling of the future come to be. "If anything happens to your mother, I am coming to the farm and living with you, Barb."
Wonderful feast day today of Mary the Mother of The Church! We are the Disciple at the foot of the Cross and Jesus gives her to us, and we are blessed endlessly as we bring her into our homes! "There is a better mom than you, mom!" "Yes!!! I totally agree with you, John!"
Sweet Nephew Sam and his growing family here for his brother's wedding!
I love to overlap my adoration hour with son, John, and we pray long and hard together with Jesus right there with us through His Mother last night into the first hour of Monday!
Jesus is here! It is so appropriate that I pray my litany of our families - 250+ by name on the first hour of Monday, because that is the day that dad would pray for the entire family first and middle name! My newest granddaughter is now #59 great- grandchild! Add to that the 34 grands and my siblings and I with spouses. That is a big job! I know that dad is there with me and has added Magdalene Rose to the litany of family!
Joined in prayer brings my parents close to me - gone only in the last year - both of them - first mom and 7 months later dad, who lived here with me for 6 of those months - I was the lucky one!
"Jesus and Mary, I love you. Save souls!"
The corn and beans are up... now prayer for the rain that we need!
The field by my house that dad watch grow from seeds being planted to harvested including the baling of the ditch hay. Dad was so alert and interested in all of it, and farmer hubby loved to share his life with my father! Dad was very good about praying for the farmers daily.
Sat by St Luke window - my patron saint for mass last evening as the sun warmed me at the mass for the high school graduates. The corn and beans are up... now prayer for the rain that we need!

Appreciated all the priests at mass modeling the wonderful powerful much needed option of the priesthood for the 36 graduates present. The red for Pentecost added to the statement on this birthday of The Church!
At the foot of the Cross we are given LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT, and Mary as our Mother!
The Church is a joy to me with each new day! How I love that my parents brought us into The Catholic Church 50 years ago... all 13 of us!
Our wonderful farm family with my dad a year ago on Ascension Sunday. There is no doubt of dad's prayers for Ruth and her new life. Dad and mom modeled for me saying "yes" to life and to family. They had 8 children and then added 4 orphaned children by adoption!
At the weekend wedding many asked about my time with dad here on the farm, as we very much felt his presence with us there. He and mom are so recently gone that it is still a huge adjustment not to have them there with us. My brother, Dan, the father of the groom prayed so beautifully over our meal and the couple modeling his prayer after my father's way of prayer from the heart, traditional prayer and finally we all added; "Bless us all and make us all good kids" in a loud final ending which made us all smile and think of our dearly departed but never forgotten father, Deacon Robert Cross.
A 4 generation with grandma added... it is out of date with dad gone and new arrival around Thanksgiving... still a blessed memory!

Pat giving dad The Eucharist - how I adore that dad and I totally shared our Faith with no reservations. There is no greater JOY to me than sharing my faith with my domestic Church/family! Mom and dad showed us the Way and brought us into The Church!
Pat had told his sisters that he would only marry a Catholic years before, and knowing how determined he is. I give him a lot of credit for praying us into The Church! My greatest JOY is my Catholic Faith and I love it all with no reservations!
Beautiful Rose Again in my mother's chair holding a 2 week old Baby Birdie Barbara a year ago. It was so fun for my dad to watch his newest grandchild grow. Yes, I was the lucky one to have that wonderful time with my dad and he with my family!
Starting to look... It is so much like the time I was just blessed with in Fort Lewis with Maggie Rose! As a friend said at mass yesterday; "You are so lucky to have all these wonderful grandchildren! No, you are blessed!" Yes!!!!
Lilacs and cows and calves out on the green grass in the pasture by the house from Ruth's beautiful porch on the farm! Nothing better in my book with my Most Cherished Cross and little granddaughter, Joy Jean, who will now be a big sister.
Jesus, we are overwhelmed by your unconditional love and forgiveness. May we return that to those around us most especially those the closest to us in our domestic Church/family. May we die to self so that you may live in us. Thank you for your Bride - your Body, The Church! Each day is a gift of LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT in our hearts, minds and souls! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah!
Soon the sign will be read - Welcome Maggie Rose! How we love to have more love with each new member in our family! Bless-bless, Barbara and all

How I wept and smiled endlessly while my nephew dance with his wonderful mom to this song on Saturday night!
