"Master, I want to see."/" can one ever see enough of their splendor?" - fencing with my love.

Hubby love - My Most Cherished Cross needed some help with fencing yesterday.  I have the enjoyable task of driving the 4 wheeler along while he works on the fence - walking along to catch any problems.

He first put them into a new pasture with lots of fresh long wonderful grass, and then fixed the fence around them.  For me it was a delight to see them in grass up to their waists and they were so happy to be there with wonderful grass to eat all around them!

I am always so interested at Pat's ability to put the puzzle back together after the winter's toll on this fence.  Many times he has to go to his knees to fix the bottom wire, and is much like prayer.  He has shared with me over our 43 years of marriage that as a farmer he is praying most all day over this or that he is dealing with.  A life is the life of a farmer - not a job, although a lot of hard work is involved in each day.

With Pat's healing shoulder still not up to full strength - I am prayerful and thoughtful of his still able to do so much with some new ways of doing it in order to protect his healing shoulder.

As we stopped on the top of a high hill over the creek - the cows and calves came streaming down the cow paths to see what we were up to.
They were all around us, and there was such a beauty and wonder of them being so close and personal.

When I consider that they are aware that this man has cared for them from day one on this earth.  All were born on our farm from the cow to the calves, Pat might have assisted in their birth, gotten them to nurse, checked on them daily, fed them, - much like our Lord looks out for us!

The words from Sirach today spoke to me of this great awareness of the care of the farmer for feeding the world from the beginning to the end...  And the beauty we are blessed with in day to day moments like yesterday when this new pasture was filled with contented cows and calves, birds singing and flying, and the peaceful breezes blowing through the grass all around me in the warmth of the May sunshine.

How beautiful are all his works!
    even to the spark and fleeting vision!
The universe lives and abides forever;
    to meet each need, each creature is preserved.
All of them differ, one from another,
    yet none of them has he made in vain,
For each in turn, as it comes, is good;
    can one ever see enough of their splendor?  Sirach 42

Wanting to capture the special closeness yet peacefulness...

Psalm 33 also speaks of how we see God when we are surrounded by the beauty of nature and His creation.  Today's rain has been prayed for long and hard and we are thanking Him!

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made;
    by the breath of his mouth all their host.
He gathers the waters of the sea as in a flask;
    in cellars he confines the deep.
R.    By the word of the Lord the heavens were made.
Let all the earth fear the Lord;
    let all who dwell in the world revere him.
For he spoke, and it was made;
    he commanded, and it stood forth.
R.    By the word of the Lord the heavens were made.  Psalm 33

On the other side of me...  I am sitting on the 4 wheeler and surrounded by cows and calves...
A cow and her calf in the creek down below...  Such a peaceful lovely sight to see the cow caring for her calf and looking out for it.
Pat then had to walk the fence in places that the 4 wheeler could not get to, so I had the peaceful time on the hill praying and taking in the spring sound of birds and the breeze and sunshine.

My rosary took on new heights of praise and worship in adoring God in his nature all around me.  The cattle were peacefully eating and not a sound in their contentment.

The Gospel today is an amazing one from Mark 10 - Bartimaeus, the blind beggar!  I recall that we had a blind calf once that we named Bartimaeus and it survived a while...as they answer the "moo" of their mothers, and can also smell them.

Don't we all say to Jesus; "Master, I want to see."?  Many times we do not understand or are blind to what Jesus is asking of us.  All we need to truly see is Jesus awaiting us at the end of the narrow path we are stumbling down dragging our Most Cherished Cross as we follow Jesus with the help of His loving and caring Mother of heaven and earth!

Jesus, we love you and long to follow you no matter how blind and lost we may be.  May we die to self so that you may live in us and be your hands and feet and voice in this world.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
