Mass for Christian burial for a good humble man- childlike close to God/“Peace I leave with you.." John 14/Last day of planting 2021

Father incensing the casket of a special man, who died suddenly last week.  A very sweet and humble man, who loved his family and worked hard to provide for them!  We knew them from 4H over the years and it was a special gift to attend his funeral mass and hear the words of the Gospel reminding us that we are to be childlike in our faith and Kenny modeled that so humbly.  He certainly was a man that was close to God.

It was a wonderful hour with Jesus after having the gift of reading the books that both my parents left behind for me!  They are so with me on this journey day to day!

Doing some landscaping around mom and dad's resting place - I would love to stop by this weekend but I don't think that I will get that far.  A wedding shower in Apple Valley after picking up Nancy and the girls in Delano.  

I am calling them "fake plans" because Maria has her last stress test tomorrow and if any contractions appear on the monitor she will have her little girl sooner.  I have to place it in the Lord's hands and trust and be ready at the drop of the hat!  Hector came earlier, so... I wait and pray!

Helping Pat load the last of the beans in the seed tender!  Today the planting is finished!  Now for rain and warm growing weather!  Lord, hear our prayer!

Chief broken wing has learned to manage with one arm.  He is excited to think that the brace could be coming off in a couple weeks!

When he was injured it was hard to think that he could get through a entire planting season with one usable arm to lift, but he has managed and the PT guy says that he is doing well.  So grateful for him to be patient and careful now.

The Gospel today from John 14 is one of great comfort and encouragement when you face those difficulties that come with life!  

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.
Not as the world gives do I give it to you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid...."  John 14

Taking it as it comes and trusting in Him as He is in control as we are tossed about by the storms of life!

A new place for Mary's goats in the grove...

This was so True from St Mother Teresa of Calcutta today!  Sharing with another widow today, whose husband was helped to die at home on hospice.  Recalling my own father, who came a year ago and went on hospice the day he arrived - he was alert and able to walk and talk and eat and pray with me in our Farm Monastery!  

We had 6 months here/an entire growing season on the farm and it was such a wonderful gift to me to be able to share with my dad the beauty of hospice as it allows the patient and family to have peace and comfort as they walk into the sunset of their lives.  Hospice addresses all the facets of a person - physical, mind and spirit! LOVE !

Pope Benedict and mom today!  I am so overwhelmed to have mom and dad continuing to share with me such pearls of Truth each day!

"The woman expresses the reality of creation as well as the fruitfulness of grace."  Yes!  How deeply I am blessed by Mary the Mother of God with me each step of the way as I stagger down the narrow path dragging my Most Cherished Cross!

Dad's man, Brother Victor, each day gives us the light of Truth as we are allowed to share in his life of Monastic living!  

"...thou unending dawn, thou sun without setting."  Mom and dad are in constant light with Jesus and the Saints, and our children, grandchildren, and parents!  Praying more perfectly for their family now!  How I am grateful for them being with me each day in their special ways!  Bless-bless, Barbara

Yes!  I do love her so much!  But I can never love her more than Jesus does!  I am super excited because tomorrow for the May Crowning at the Catholic School - Rose Again gets to crown Mary in her First Communion dress!
