Gus's naptime happened to land when grandpa came in for lunch... so guess who won? Grandpa got Gus up to wear his hat while grandpa held him and ate a quick lunch... Gus looks a bit like he is still thinking about his nap...

Then Gus got to meet he dogs - up close and personal. He didn't look too impressed, but at least he didn't cry... the fur on his bare toes must have been kind of soft and new...

He showed Gus his first piece of equipment - the new and pretty rake...

The cows just got moved into the pasture across the road yesterday, so we walked down to show Gus the cows and calves for the first time.
Gus was very calm and took it all in through squinty eyes in the bright sun!
Beautiful clouds, calves of all colors and sizes, big cows with that interesting moo here and there to get a new 11 week old boys attention! The weather was warm, but not too hot for the first visit of many that baby Gus will make to see the cows over the different seasons on the farm!

It was a good first meeting... no crying or sleeping... just looking and wondering what those things are with the smells and sounds. They will become very much a part of your life Gus... your mom is a farm girl and proud of it!
So pretty, right Gus?
