So much fresh food these days... thinking about all those fresh vitamins, and minerals, and fiber going where we need them in our amazing bodies! One of the most powerful things that I learned in college... I had just gotten into nursing school at St Catherine's college... I was a junior in college. I went into a large lecture hall, for my first class in Anatomy and Physiology, taught by a tiny little nun in full habit - Sr Terisita!
Filled with conviction and excitement she told us the first day..."There is proof positive that there is a God, when you look at the miracle of life and the human body! It is truly miraculous to look at all the systems, and how they all work together to make us live and move and have our being!" This was the basis upon which she launched into a mind spinning year of learning about what is the intricate workings of our bodies... truly revealing the mind of GOD, and His Love for each and every one of us!
There are times when I feel worried and overwhelmed as a nurse, and the responsibility that I have for the lives of people under my care. But I also marvel at the working of faith and God in the mix of our bodies, and how they are healed, and work according to His Plan for us! Life is a GIFT - cherish and nuture it at every point of our life here on earth from conception to natural death! Use me, Lord, to your honor and glory now and forever. Jesus, we trust in you! Amen and Halleluia!

"Almighty God, Divine Healer of all, grant me, your handmaiden, strength and courage in my calling.
Give to my heart, compassion and understanding. +++
Give to my hands, skill and tenderness.+++
Give to my mind, knowledge and wisdom. +++
Especially, Dear Lord, help me always to remember the true purpose of my vocation, that of selfless service and dedication to the weak and despairing in body and spirit. Amen"
