"God has visited his people." Luke 7

The Gospel today is so powerful!  Jesus takes pity on a mother, who is going to bury her son, and raises him from the dead!  "Do not weep" he tells her and all those around her!  How powerful for this mother and so many others to read this and to "see" with eyes of Faith the Truth that dwells here for us!  We have all wept for our children and some have been dead - both spiritually and physically and mentally and emotionally!  For myself and my daughter, Maria, we have both wept over the loss of our children to have them raised before our eyes to LIFE!  John with his brain cancer, an answer to his prayer for his dead faith to be brought to LIFE!  We just were speaking to a Brother that runs St Mary's in Winona - St Mary's Press... Nancy was speaking to him about John's book and described it as how he found LIFE through facing death in brain cancer.  "John had healing and found Faith through brain cancer."  Brother's eyes became very bright with the power of this, and definitely told John to let them look at his book when it was done! 

Hallel receiving a gift from a priest friend before the dedication - a blessed Crucifix!  After the two days we just had with the Community of the Lamb and our dear little Sister Hallel and her sisters and brothers - now our also... we are so filled with the knowledge that "God has visited his people!"  This was the reality for the people that were gathered around the widow to bury her son, and witnessed Christ having pity on her and -"Jesus stepped forward and touched the coffin... and he said, 'Young man, I tell you arise!'  The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother.  Fear seized them all, and they glorified God, exclaiming...'God has visited his people.' "  Luke 7:11-17

So many times the Lord visited his people in this scene of Heaven coming down to earth!  To see the hundreds gathered for mass of celebration and dedication for the Little Monastery in the heart of our country!  Watching the news last night with Nancy and the massacre that took place in Washington DC yesterday  and all the horrible news of flooding etc - we were so aware of the darkness that fills our world - how we need Lumen Christi - the LIGHT of Christ that has sprung up from the ashes of an old rectory in the poor part of Kansas City!  To see the 4 American girls or should I say 5 with Hallel - and the growing numbers of families of the Lamb... a huge swelling crowd of those that come to the bask and take forth the LIGHT of Christ to the world wreathed in darkness!

"Lord Jesus, may consecrated men and women be helped by the witness of all Christians to live fully and completely their union with the mystery of Christ. May we all, with one accord answer the call to holiness in order to build up the Body of Christ, the LIGHT of the world."

Two of the pails of apples are on the way so that we can start our big day of applesauce.  We are grateful for the Lord answering our prayer for applesauce.  The Lord is blessing those he loves - supplying their needs - visiting his beloved with many rich blessings! 

Jesus, we are forever grateful to YOU for showering mothers with the answer to their many prayers for those you have given us to raise in your Truth and that they may be LIGHTS to the world!  Jesus, we are filled to the brim with all that is good - “Lower your expectations of earth. This isn't Heaven, so don't expect it to be.”
― Max Lucado  Yes, this is true, yet we can find a small piece of Heaven in our domestic Church/family - if we always deny ourselves and put Christ first in our lives!  Lord, I am thanking you this day for giving me my healed and brought back from the dead son, John!  I am also joining in thanking YOU for my grandson, Patrick, who was raised from the dead as he was born dead!  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Amen and Halleluia

From morning office I was overjoyed to read the reading - Isaiah 55:1

Invitation to the Thirsty

55 “Come, all you who are thirsty,
    come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
    come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
    without money and without cost.
² Why spend money on what is not bread,
    and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
    and you will delight in the richest of fare."

Why is this so important to me?  It was the scripture my dad read on the Ignation retreat 42 years ago and the Holy Spirit told him to leave the Protestant ministry and join the Catholic Church along with all 12 in his family - http://familysoulstory.blogspot.com/p/the-amazing-story-of-13-becoming.html  Here is the story in its entirety!  How I praise and thank HIM for touching me and healing me and my family in this way - saying to my mother - "Do not weep."  How she hand longed and prayed to come into The Church, and the Lord answered her plea!  So many blessings as we can all say with great JOY - "God has visited his people."
