Nancy is facetiming with Bill in Australia... he is very homesick and misses the kids a lot. they are both on her lap and looking at dad on the screen. We are celebrating a wonderful unexpected downpour this morning - I have plans to go out for our first mud puddle pictures in months!
The Gospel today is the amazing one of the sinful woman washing his feet with her tears and wiping them with her hair... so grateful that Jesus forgave her sins, and that she is born anew into the beautiful image of God she was created to be - "Your faith has saved you; go in peace." Jesus says to her! "Anyone of us that passes through God's mind, anyone of us that God touched, cannot be this horrible person we think we are. No! Each one of us is beautiful -we're beautiful because he touched us. Every human being is a mystery. The mystery of man enters into the mystery of God, and bursting forth with great joy, comes faith and understanding. When faith is there, all is clear, and a love relation with God enters into your heart. When you have faith, it is such a simple thing to accept his love, even if we do not understand why he loves us." Servant of God Catherine de Hueck Doherty
We can get down on ourselves and think that we are bad, but we need to recall that we are loved by Jesus, and that He came in human form to touch us - He continues to do this to this very day! He touches us through His glorious wonderful sacraments! He touches us with great unconditional LOVE and forgiveness in the sacrament of reconciliation! We reach out and take HIM into our hands in the form of bread and wine as we eat HIS lifegiving Body and Blood in the Eucharist! Every day in the Sacrament of Marriage we are given the graces we need to embrace our Most Cherished Cross and follow after HIM to LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT! I have such deep personal knowledge of Christ touching me in my lifetime! My family growing up and our journey into The Church - all 13 of us! Finding my Champion of LIFE - Patrick Verly, and the wonderful LIFE on the farm with our 5 with us here on earth and the 7 praying for us in Heaven! What a glorious reunion that will be when our entire family is united in Heaven! We have a small piece of Heaven here on earth as we share our Faith, Family, and Farm. The miracles of late of John and Patrick - today we are praying for a young man in his last days here on earth - Justin Lothert - we ask for John's healings and blessing to be now passed on to this family, just as they were to Patrick! http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/justinlothert Jesus, hold Justin and his family in the palm of your hand.
We went out to celebrate our unexpected and much prayed for over an inch of rain this morning with some kids in mud puddle pictures!
Jesus, we are reminded so beautifully this day of all your unconditional LOVE for each of us - created in your image and likeness! You loved your creation so much that you took the form of a human being to allow us to know God and to the extent YOU are willing to give your all without counting the cost! May I weep copious amounts of tears to wash your feet as we recall the LOVE that you have for me, and how much YOU forgive me with each day and each of my weaknesses and failings! Jesus, we are so weak and need YOU to show us how to LOVE without counting the cost - "Wounded, I will not cease to LOVE." The motto of the Community of the Lamb
As Paul said today - we need to not treat others as objects, and to treat others as they are... created in the image of God! Lord, we ask that this day we can do better in seeing YOU in those that we come meet - most especially those in our domestic Church/family. Jesus, we LOVE you with the deepest most complete LOVE as we are filled with the Knowledge and LOVE of YOU with the help of our Church and all that it holds out to us this day. Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah
Bless-bless, Barb
"Whoever loses his life for my sake will find it in eternity." Mt 10:39
St Januarius, pray for us today. " St Januarius was condemned to death as a Christian while visiting a friend - and fellow Christian - in prison. May we be so committed to the corporal works of mercy, especially when they are uncomfortable." see www.magnificat.com

Grandpa is loving the rain!!!! So many prayers are answered by this inch - now grass can grow in the pastures and the cows can have some fresh waters in the creeks, and mudpuddles for the kids to play in and celebrate the goodness of our God!
