Casting a shadow in the bright sunlight on the glorious day of celebration in Kansas City ... the feast of the Exultation of the Cross was the day family and friends by the hundreds gathered the Blessing of the Little Monastery - Lumen Christi! Tonight we are all sunburned after sitting for about 2 hours for a most wonderful celebration surrounded by family and those that have loved and supported The Community of the Lamb since they arrived here in the U S about 5 years ago. So many special parts to it all, and yes excitement as a lady passed out and ambulances and fire trucks arrived just at the consecration.
Many beautiful sights with many religious there to share in this occasion.
We had 6 of the grandkids in tow as well as 4 of the 5 kids together.
The consecration with the many priests in attendance...
The blessing of a statue of St Agnes that now stands in the new chapel - she is Hallel's patron saint and holds the Lamb - the symbol of the community - "Grant the whole family of the Lamb a share in the grace given to St Agnes, of a total self-offering to your Love, victorious over hatred, evil and death itself. You, the Lamb of God, the LIGHT that the darkness cannot overcome, illumine the heart of men, and make each an instrument of peace."
St Agnes, pray for us!
So blessed to have this intimate moment as Hallel had prepared the altar for adoration which was offered throughout the day - Singing and praising her spouse on her knees as Fr Cristophe puts Jesus on the altar. I didn't weep, but was fighting back tears to be able to witness this special scene.
Hallel has told us that she is going to Marcay, France where they are working on building a little monastery. No more Kansas City nor Saint Pierre, and something new for her. Jesus, we thank you for these chances to spend with our precious Little Sister Hallel and her wonderful rich Community of the Lamb - rich in what really matters knowledge and LOVE of HIM. Tomorrow we ask for your blessings upon Marie as she takes the habit and changes her name. Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah
Bless-bless, Barb
