Surrounded by family on a glorious fall day - the phone rang often from her sons at work taking the crop out and assorted grandkids letting her know of their love and caring. Reading a wonderful sharing by Nancy in a book we put together for her 90th birthday about how much her attending mass with grandma meant to her for the 3 years that she lived back here in Marshall and taught school at the high school. Saying that she would work until the last minute and then get to mass late a lot of times, how sharing this special time with grandma every Monday night was such a gift! Then to come to her house and sit at the counter and visit over grandma's good cooking - "I would start to unwind and relax for the first time all day." She assured her how much these times meant to her and she still holds them very much in her heart! Grandma is certainly a wonderful loving woman to all her family.
Ruthie brought apple pie, kids and smiles...
Just like when Ruth went to Holy Redeemer - they walked over to her house from school. Something tells me that this could be the start of something for the kids. It has been a blessing to have her here all these years - now a new generation can walk over after school!
This is what the guys were doing until we got 1/2 inch of rain at about 8p. Another few hours we would have had all the beans out... so here we have rain and a part of a bean field left...
Walking to great-grandma's from the Catholic School, and back again on a beautiful day. It was a 80 day once again with a brisk wind blowing in rain! A great day was had by all. We love you great-grandma Ann! Happy 94th birthday. Bless-bless, Barb and family
