Happy Feast to Our Spiritual Mother of heaven and earth - Saturday! I currently have a 11 month old here keeping me company and we just had rousing version of monkeys in the bed, along with sitting on grandma's lap and bouncing. I have not gotten one thing completed this morning, but broken up happily by a little girl - she and grandma are bonding over a bottle of formula - a new and different experience for her!
It is a distracted day with a call to France and getting a nice half an hour talk with Hallel in her new location of Marseille, France. She was out pulling weeds in the yard, so seemed to like a break for visiting. John filled her in on his job and finding a place to live in an old convent just a half block from the Church of The Good Shepherd in Jackson, MN. We also informed her that Fr Cozzins has been made auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese! My three youngest know him very well from their years in Catholic Studies and seminary. Hallel said that she wasn't surprised by it. It was just good to hear her happy and chatty from the other side of the world. It worked out that her dad was on the yard from taking the crop out and could say a "hello" to her too! I apologized for not getting her birthday card to her yet, and we decided that I should wait and include a picture of her new nephew when he arrives on her feastday in a few weeks - All Saints Day - November 1st! How we continue to pray for the safety of Ruth and her little son!

Jesus, with your Mother Mary at your side - we adore and glorify the wonder of all LIFE and how precious it is! We ask that LIFE be respected at all points from conception to natural death. End the horror of abortion, Lord! Be with all the farmers as they are so busy taking out the crop. Keep them safe and alert as they work long and difficult hours. Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah
Bless-bless, Barb
"The Papal motto of Blessed John Paul II - soon to be St John Paul II on April 27, 2014 Divine Mercy Sunday - was Totus Tuus (totally yours). This statement of trust in the Blessed Virgin Mary is not an unimportant factor in reflecting on the life of this great pope. John Paul, following the Marian piety of St Louis de Montfort, entrusted all his prayers and works to the Blessed Virgin Mary. We would do well to entrust all our cases and our very lives to her, for she is 'the safest, easiest, shortest and most perfect way' to Jesus and to sanctity." (Treastise on the True Devotion to Mary, St Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort, 55).
Blessed Mother and Child, show us how to embrace LIFE!
