Angel GPS- St Isidore the farmer saint!

Luke is starting to devour his mom with love..... chewing on her face as he grabs on both sides of her neck.  My most favorite icons of Our Lady is with baby Jesus chewing on her chin with total LOVE for his mother!  So when I see the little ones doing that to my daughters... I am thrilled to the core with the great mother-child bond that is so evident in these little ones not getting enough of their moms.  It speaks of total love and devotion of these little ones for their wonderful moms!
Ruth determined to put dog ears in Bernadette's much shorter hair today.  Another thing that warms my heart is seeing the girls doing the little girls hair!  After 4 girls in a row it is my throw back Thursday to be able to do little girls' hair!  I love it almost as much as watching the girls fix their girls hair.  To have them both in matching hair... I then had to dress them alike, and...
Make them princesses with a crown for each made from grandma's many necklaces....
When grandma brushed her teeth... suddenly I had matching girls there too!
This morning we were happy to find it the feastday of the farmer Saint - St Isidore!  We read of his deep faith this morning - starting each day with mass and so prayerful that others felt that he was not going his work due to the his piety... Well, his landowner watched him in secret and discovered that "he saw Isidore rapt in prayer while, in the field, an angel guided the plow."   This day and age there is GPS in the tractor that guides it across the field when they are digging in the spring or ripping in the fall.  There is also one in the planter and combine!  Angels named GPS... a farmer certainly could finger his rosary beads and say some prayers as his tractor is going across the field without his guidance or hand on the steering wheel.  How wonderful to think of them having time for prayer as they put in our out the crop!   I am sure that many sort of prayers are said at those times between turning back and forth on the ends.
Soon the feet joined the toothbrushes, hands, arms legs and fronts in the water...
The house is quiet and my rosary is calling me... the babies are being watched over by their guardian angels as they sleep and the mothers and grandmothers can have some time to pray and gain strength for the next session of kids at play and arguing and crying and laughing and babbling and saying new words for the first time and eating and snacking and making noise and making messes.... it takes as well rested and prayerfilled mom and grandmom to face that with a cheerful smile.  But two girls with dog ears and matching dresses and bare feet and toothbrushes in the running water in front of the mirror gave this grandmother great joy filled with giggles and about 50 pictures!  Today in the Gospel Jesus tells us that if we receive Him we are receiving the One, who sent Him - God!  And also when we receive the small, little and the poor we are receiving Christ!  So true of the little small helpless and needy little ones we have in our midst - truly we are seeing Christ in our midst!
A grandma's simple joy... Jesus, we truly know that we have to die to self when we are open to LIFE and the little ones keep on coming to fill our time with caring for them and feeding them and changing them when they get dirty or wet and being puzzled by their moods and tears and yes - laughter and protecting them from harm... This day as John and I prayed morning prayer we were reminded of those innocent lives in the womb that are facing death through abortion this day and how we prayed for the men and women, who are considering this horrible option of taking a life.  Lord, please allow them to see the Truth of LIFE and cherish and protect all life in the womb from conception on.  End the horror of abortion!   Jesus, asks us to die to self so that He may live within us, and how better to accomplish this than by filling our time with LIFE as we are open to those little ones in our families?  There is no better way to bring LIGHT into this world of darkness than to be open to LIFE and to raise them as LIGHTS in our domestic Church/family where our faith is shared one with the other!  As parents we are called to share the Way, the Truth and the LIFE - Jesus and his Bride, The Church in our homes!  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Amen and Hallelujah
Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
Augustine has been watching Dave help his mom in the kitchen, so he wanted to help grandma make pancakes this morning... he was in charge of putting rainbow sprinkles on the pancakes!
"I will lead the blind on their journey; by paths unknown I will guide them.  I will turn darkness into light before them, and make crooked ways straight.  These things I will do for them, and I will not forsake them."  Isaiah 42:16
So much love!
Just one of many of Jesus with his MOM!
Grandpa reading to the tribe!
Here is a cute farm story to end today as it is a farmer feast day- St Isidore!
Nancy was out in the barn with Gus and David watching Pat bottle feed a calf.  Gus looks down and says to his mom - "Is that cow poop, mom?"  "Yes, Gus, cows aren't smart enough to go on the potty."  Then David put his arm around Gus' shoulder and says very seriously - "And their butts are too big for the potty."  There you have it... we all roared around here at the simple way the kids think about life on the farm.  When grandpa heard it - "I want to train the cows to go on the toilet!  It would be a lot easier for me!"
The newest farmboy - little 6 1/2 month old Luke...
http://moments.org/  Here is a beautiful 2 minute piece about being a grandfather that son-in-law, Joseph shared with me just now... yes, I have tears in my eyes - very beautiful and I adore how Pat loved his little ones and now their little ones!  He is the best ever lover of LIFE and raiser of LIGHTS!

Third Day - God of wonders
Third Day - Trust in Jesus
