"Nothing is anything more for me; everything is nothing to me, but Jesus:" St Bernadette

Back from our pilgrimage, basking in the afterglow of so many graces, and pondering what Our Lady of Lourdes, imparted to St. Bernadette Soubirous
Do these words of St Bernadette ring true for you?  My facebook friend, Scott Hahn, just returned from a pilgrimage to Lourdes and Fatima and shared this amazing quote from Bernadette along with these words -

This does ring true for me and I see it so much as the attitude that our John has now found after barely surviving his battle against brain cancer.  He has a longing for heaven and that feeling that "I should have died" just is hard for him to get past.  He says that all he longs to do is to share his story far and wide - his quarterhearted prayer for faith that resulted in the Lord allowing brain cancer to lead him to true Faith in Christ and His Bride, The Church!  http://familysoulstory.blogspot.com/p/johns-cancer-stories.html  For more of the story - here is the page I devoted to John's cancer journey...  There are many amazing stories that continue to this day, and prayer is what carries us forth into each new day.

To my great delight I found a wonderful post this morning on Ruth's blog promoting farmlife - http://familyfarmexperience.blogspot.com/... a family trip out to the pasture after supper!  This was our summer fun/vacation as the kids grew up - taking a trip out to the pasture after supper with the sun setting in the West!  The simple things in LIFE shared as a family are what gives us the greatest JOY and to see it loved and enjoyed by our daughter, Ruth, and her family makes us feel that much more wonderful about the LIFE on the farm we have been given!  When we see our children embracing the life they grew up with and now sharing it with their family - the height of compliments to their upbringing!

David cooling his toes in the creek last night.  The creek was always a fun place to get muddy and wet on our times out to the pasture - water running through in the creek is needed for the cows and calves to drink and wash down all that beautiful fluorescent green grass!
I haven't mentioned that we have all 7 kids today coming and going... Ruth is working, the men are out picking rocks, and 3 are in Bible school while we watch the 4 younger ones.  A picnic with the rock pickers is in the plans, so we are to the point of working on our lunch.  I need to wrap up this sharing today... the words of Jesus to us in the Gospel... "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.  Not as the world gives do I give to you.  Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid..."  John 14
Yes, Lord, we long to be with You and to leave the frustrations and evil and darkness that tries to pull us away from you, and to find a place of peace and JOY in You with the help of your Bride, The Church!

Rose in an apple tree in the pasture last night...
Jesus, fill us with your peace as we strive to sainthood along with the help of St Bernadette and so many that have gone before us!  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Amen and Hallelujah

Rose trying to feed the calves by hand... not quite that tame, Rose.

"God is not the God of disorder but of peace."  I Cor 14:33
"The concern of the flesh is death, but the concern of the spirit is life and peace."  Romans 8:6
My most cherished cross with his arms full of little ones and his mouth full of Bernadette's popcicle.  How he loves his little ones around.  He is threatening to keep Bernadette here, but her mom and dad don't think much of that idea!
Third Day - I need a miracle
This seemed to be the right song for today as we just were shocked by a suicide of a man we have done business with over the years.  Lord, please minister to those that are facing the darkness and lose hope.  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Bless-bless
