"A cookie is not important. God is important." Little Dave to a crying Simon

Two girls entertain us with getting along and playing the organ...  It is always a time to celebrate when the little ones get along and realize that it is more fun to play together.  There have been a lot of profound moments out of the mouths of the little ones - the humble and small!  There is one that was super great and made all the adults around him pause and think to themselves how often we forget and tend to our wants and needs above those of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who is present in all the poor and small and little and humble ones around us... like the mute demoniac today in the Gospel!  There were some special cookies I had gotten for the 4th of July and Simon wanted another one... He was in tears about his desire... little Dave - the younger of the two Davids here with us... Looked up with total serious intent and said; "Don't be upset about nothing.  Cookies are not important.  God is important!"  Simon walked away with his head down and realized that there was no hope for another cookie when his younger cousin told him the Truth of LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!
On the beach at sunset for a fire on a calm night... smores got them to clean their plates. With this many little ones you learn the art of bribery.
Well, the cyclone has just gone out for a walk before lunch on this cold dark day.  The noise and confusion makes it hard to concentrate on here and there is much pulling at me and my senses.  The wonder of holding wide awake Dominic this morning to start my day and the sweet kisses of the little ones gathered around me got my day off to a most beautiful bright and LIGHT filled day today!  The Gospel reminds us of our need for the Good Shepherd, and His love for us and all our needs!  Jesus, we wander and are lost in so many ways.  We put more importance on things and our desires and neglect finding YOU in all those around us - even in the craziness of 11 kids 9 and under!  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Amen and Hallelujah
2 year old Rose giving Dominic a kiss - she looked for him and came over with gentle sweet pats and kisses.  She loves little ones including her brother and new cousin.  It is so interesting to see this in her when she can tend to be so willful and difficult at times... she looks outside herself at new life and loves it sweetly.  Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
Another baby lover - Big David!
Then the supreme baby lover - Sweet Therese and Dominic seems to have his first smile to show how much he loves her too!
Danielle Rose - the litany of humility
Danielle Rose - wonderfully made
