The Pat and Barb Verly family and their 5 children, in laws and grandkids along with many prayer warriors have been drawn together by John's cancer... sharing daily for 8 months started this blog- Family Soul Story - Our faith, family, farm and now our cancer journey called HEALING have colored and deepened our world. WE continue to share and depend on the support of our prayer warrior community, that has lowered us into the Lord's presence for His healing!
In the midst of family time on a Sunday morning after sharing mass together. The news on TV is not good with the fighting, and the horror of a plane shot down filled with innocent people. We find comfort and hope in our 4 generations gathered together - sharing Christ within and in our midst! Yes, there continues to be the weeds of the enemy/Satan in the midst of the good seed/the wheat to become our Bread of LIFE! We cling with HOPE to all that is good and find some Peace in the midst of this crazy world!
Juice boxes out on the deck with Aunt Raterra! Soon to go home to "walk" their fair pigs - grandpa is excited as he has never walked a pig before... sounds like a photo shoot to me!
Rosie's ringlets in her hair today... they look like a sweet little girl, but she gets her stick and chases the pigs with the big kids...

Grandpa putting the show calves for 4H into the barn and out of the sun... "They aren't that easy to handle yet." "I'm strong!"
Rose has her boots on and is watching - in just a few years - you will be showing for 4H Rose!
Daddy help over the fence - "Time to do your job and mix up the feed, Rosita!" Each of the kids have chores with the chickens, pigs and calves. Also help in the garden and on canning days. Farmlife is great for kids to learn how to help. Evidently was a joy for Ruth growing up on the farm, as she and Paul now have that same life for their kids! How I love to see it!
The pigs are let out of their pen... grandpa is super excited to walk his first pig ever! "This is so easy compared to cows and calves - they would run away so fast that you would never catch them." Just ask Ruth about the time one dragged her down the driveway as she held on for dear life!

Out for a breezy Sunday stroll/walk with pigs - all the kids get into the action. Ruth even came out and walked behind holding Luke!
This is something our kids never did - we had cows and calves and never pigs.
They are kind of cute to see, and it is really good to see the kids out sharing this experience together.
They wanted to stay in the shade of the big cottonwood tree, and so did we.

A girl with her pigs under a beautiful tree on a warm breezy Sunday. Across the road the corn is tall and tasseled... Farm life is permeating this day from the parable Jesus taught us of the weeds in the wheat, and now to the time with family and farm animals. Yes, that world is filled with darkness and pain - the weeds, but we look to our Faith in Jesus and His Bride, The Church, and there we find the LIGHT to make us smile and find the peace and hope we need to go forward as LIGHTS to the world.

Ruth and Luke bring up the rear... love this in the shade of the Cottonwood tree. Jesus, thank you for a day of enjoying family on the farm. We are reminded that we can have a small slice of heaven in the midst of this world with much sadness if we keep You first in our lives. Jesus, we trust in YOU. Bless-bless, Barb
