Romeo being played with and found himself in butterfly wings and very cute at that!
It is a big day around here getting everything ready for John and Pat to work a TEC retreat over the weekend and Monday. We have John's appointment in Mayo tomorrow bright and early so all the getting ready for TEC has to happen today. Please join us in praying for John! It was 5 years ago that John and I arrived in our little yellow house about this time to start the process of his stem cell transplant, and just about when he was told that he had reached CR - Complete Response/Christ Rules! So we are pretty confident that 5 years later it will be continuing good news!

I am so very hopeful and told John that I am praying that he finds direction this TEC weekend, as he serves without counting the cost. The words from the first reading taken from Psalm 95 are ringing in me this day - "If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts." also Hebrews 3 The biggest change in me happened at my first TEC - Together Encounter Christ Retreat - 17 years ago. I discovered that Prayer is a real and powerful force in my life. It is every breath that I take and every beat of my heart - My day is not complete without time spent in prayer! I have seen huge results from praying namely John's healing as well as Patrick's!
We are very excited to have a couple amazing girls from Church making it for the first time! John will be a table leader and Pat will also plus giving a talk. I love to work TEC very much but I am happy to have John and Pat have this time, and to be here with Maria and the kids as we are approaching their last week here.
A cute movie of Romeo the butterfly to add to your smiles today. He is such a wonderful little boy to be sharing this month with! He is celebrating his 4 month birthday today along with grandpa Pat's 60 year and 4 month birthday... Romeo was born on Pat's 60th birthday! He snuggled in bed with us this morning, and lay on my chest with his sweet smile for grandma and grandpa as we prayed morning prayer together.
David came in from is fun adventure in the grove with burrs everywhere... the sign of a good time out in the fresh farm air playing in the grove.
Mom picked a handful of burrs off him from head to toe. Nice to have a warm day compared to the artic blast!
Mark's version of the leper being healed is the Gospel today. My attention is fully engaged in the fact that Jesus/God come into man reached out and broke all the rules by touching the most unclean of all humans - a leper! There is no limit or holding back of our own sins/uncleanness/wretchedness being touched and cleansed/healed/made wholly beautiful and right!
Borrowed a play station/dolls in playland for Romeo from Ruth... it was entertaining all 4 kids!
Jesus, go with us tomorrow as we have an MRI in Rochester and continue to know that John is healed of brain cancer. He is the new John and we know that you have a plan for him. May he find some answers in prayer this weekend spent coming closer to you/encountering you at Together Encounter Christ weekend. Bless all those there with a closer walk with you, O Jesus. Thank you for the beauty of this special 3 days filled with the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation and prayer and sharing one with another the ways that Jesus reaches out to touch us in our sickness/weakness/sinful ness and we are made clean and whole. We love you and thank you for the gift of TEC in our lives. Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah
Still haven't added the 3 older ones, but I definitely have plans to...
Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
