"Gospel of LIFE" Benedict XVI

My clean windows after the nice warm weather now smudged by mittens... gives this moment of soft pats and connection between 5 year old David and attention-starved Roger the dog a soft loving haze.  Somehow on this day of the 42nd anniversary of abortion being legalized a soft hazy picture just makes you long to see more clearly.  How we pray that the reality of what is taking place in an abortion may come into the light of day and all those contemplating it realize that this is a baby, a human being, a LIFE, which is being torn limb from limb and screaming out in the pain and horror as the warm safe place of the womb is entered with the abortionist tools.  That an innocent beautiful wonderful LIFE is being killed and the world is deprived by the LIGHT of millions of little ones!  How many?  1.25 million abortions per year.. in 2013 there was 56,000 abortions since RVW in 1973!  World wide they feel there have been 1 billion!  So many LIGHTS!

The Christian is someone who thinks and acts in everyday life according to God's will, someone who allows his or her life to be guided and nourished by the Holy Spirit, to be a full life, a life worthy of true sons and daughters.  And this entails realism and fruitfulness.  Those who let themselves be led by the Holy Spirit are realists; they know how to survey and assess reality.  They are also fruitful; their lives bring new life to birth all around them.  His Holiness Benedict XVI

Knowing of all the aborted babies and all the women, who have had them, and fathers who have encouraged them and paid for them and been wounded to lose their child and mothers broken and wounded and sick as the result of taking the life of their child... the vision of Jesus being pushed in upon by the huge crowds today in the Gospel to the point that he needs to escape into a boat "so that they would not crush him."  Mark 3  Just imagining all of these sick people coming for the unconditional love and forgiveness of Jesus... not only do we pray for the end of this horrific culture of death but we pray for healing for all those that suffer as a result of doing this to their baby and themselves!  Come to Jesus!!!!

Sharing Krusties for a family breakfast - tomorrow will be the last time we share a meal with our family here on the farm... we know not when they shall return. 

I love these wonderful Truthfilled words of Benedict XVI about the culture of LIFE today!
God is the Living One, the Merciful One; Jesus brings us the life of God; The Holy Spirit gives and keeps us in our new life as true sons and daughters of God.  But all too often, as we know from experience, people do not choose life, they do not accept the "Gospel of Life" but let themselves be led by ideologies and ways of thinking that block life, that do not respect life, because they are dictated by selfishness, self-interest, profit, power, and pleasure, and not by love, by concern for the good of others.  It is the eternal dream of wanting to build the city of man without God, without God's life and love- a new tower of Babel.  It is the idea that rejecting God, the message of Christ, the Gospel of LIFE, will somehow lead to freedom, to complete human fulfillment.  As a result, the Living God is replaced by fleeting human idols which offer the intoxication of a flash of freedom, but in the end bring new forms of slavery and death.  The wisdom of the Psalmist says: "The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes (Ps 19:9)."  Let us always remember : The Lord is the Living One, he is merciful.  The Lord is the Living One, he is merciful.

A lot of time in the cold, Roger will lift up his paw in a pathetic plea for some sympathy.  Roger got his wish this morning with a loving David!

Dear brothers and sisters, let us look to God as the God of LIFE, let us look at his law, to the Gospel message, as the way to freedom and life.  The living God sets us free!  Let us say "Yes" to love and not selfishness.  Let us say "Yes" to life and not death.  Let us say "Yes" to freedom and not enslavement to the many idols of our time.  In a word, let us say "Yes" to the God who is love, life, and freedom, and who never disappoints; let us say "Yes" to the God who is the living One and the merciful One.  His Holiness Benedict XVI   Who better to speak to us than this champion for LIFE, who stood next to Saint John Paul II in all he did to promote Faith filled Families/Domestic Church? 

Touched by Jesus - given healing and LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT to carry forth into the world.  Such a lesson to us that have received his unconditional LOVE and forgiveness - that we in turn share it with all those in our domestic Church/Family!

Jesus, we are filled with so many mixed emotions this day of anniversary of RVW - 42 years in which millions of lives/lights have been denied their time here on earth, and have come to join those innocent lights in heaven.  May the Truth be seen may a culture of LIFE prevail over the darkness of death and sin and sickness of the soul!

Jesus, you are there to heal us with your arms wide with unconditional LOVE and forgiveness.  May we fall on our knees and humbly ask you to come and dwell in us as we die more and more to self.  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Amen and Hallelujah

Patrick has been wearing a wool stocking cap, which I wore over 32 years ago!  I had to record this today..."That looks a lot like my mom." Said David of me here with our two oldest, Ruth and Nancy.
