After mass we gathered over at Great grandma's home. Knowing that Joseph is leaving in a few days we got some rare family photos... Maria's family with her 95 year old grandmother. WE all know how precious those pictures are with how rare it is for Joe to get here and the age of Pat's mom... This is a precious keepsake!
Great grandma with the kids. Romeo is currently her youngest great-grandchild. It was special today at mass as Father had those with babies baptized in the last year stand... Maria and Joe didn't as they said that Father wanted those baptized in Holy Redeemer to stand up.
Maria making a special family breakfast as this will be their last Sunday. Joe is leaving in a few days for training, and will not see his family for a few weeks. They will meet up in North Carolina.
It is very good to remember how we are to take very seriously our baptisms, our Godchildren and children that we have baptized into The Church, and our Baptismal vows and promises! Father had us all renew our Baptismal vows this morning and also that we are brought into The Church from that point on and we are to share our Faith with our Godchildren and children! Pat and I have 5 Godchildren and I pray for them daily on the 1st Luminous mystery - The Baptism of Jesus. I was present at their baptisms and promised to support them and help share my Faith and LOVE for the Catholic Church as they grow. I do that through remembering them at Christmas and birthdays and most importantly praying for them daily!
Jesus, you lowered yourself in your Baptism, and as Nothingness, acknowledge your Father so that we will never hesitate to do the same. May we learn to give our all and no longer be concerned with what we want or what we feel or what we desire - knowing that we need to die to self so that you may live totally and without reservation in us. May we give without counting the cost. Thank you that we have the voice of age and wisdom as well as the voice of the young and innocent - "Let the children come onto me." you said, and we see your beauty and Truth of LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT through our time shared with them. Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah

The first reading at mass - I read it and was thrilled to see that Isaiah 55:1-2 was here and the verses that followed were so wonderful, too! I just am sharing the whole thing. I know it was one of two options and we had the other one, but just to see it and read it... well, I have shared over and over how my dad was reading this when the Holy Spirit told him to join the Catholic Church with our entire family - total of 13!
