Day 4 of 2015 - remembering my first giving birth day!

It was a work day, so not many pictures until tonight... I shared mass.. sitting between old and new friends and sharing prayer in our family of Faith.  It was special singing alto with my friend Amanda...a lot of beautiful Christmas songs shared.

I went to Dairy Queen and bought a ice cream cake on the coldest day of the year!  It felt strange, but I know that Ruth's family loves ice cream and today is her birthday.  It was a very cold day 35 years ago when I experienced my first giving birth day!

Ruth questioned me tonight about that day -"Mommy, did you just gaze at your little Rosebud and marvel over how perfect and beautiful I was?"  "Yes, we did without a doubt!"
We were going to have a procession around the kitchen with the lights out, but Ruth was in the middle of cutting the boys' hair and getting them showered.  We settled for them gathered around Ruth at their table, and we had to light the candles quite a few times.  The kids have to get up at 5:30a to get on the bus at the new time.. about 6:30a!
Ready to blow out the candles!
One of the crazy one they make by putting all of my pictures together.  Hope it doesn't make you too dizzy!  It was a fun time celebrating after mass!
Gathered around the fire of LOVE/LIFE/LIGHT!
A wonderful birthday card that Therese made for her Aunt Ruthie!  So special and really makes you realize how blessed she is to have such a wonderful family!
There was a full moon tonight, so I tried to capture the stunning night view I enjoyed coming out of Ruth's house on this cold below zero night!  She has decorated her new playhouse with lights around the porch railings!   I remember that 35 years ago Pat stayed in the room at the hospital, and cuddled his new baby daughter!  Pat's favorite thing in the world taking naps with his babies and now his grandbabies!
full moon on Ruth's birthday night...
The two Patricks are starting to have a special time at night.  Patrick gets put to bed, he comes down and grandpa holds him and snuggles with him by the woodstove for about half an hour and then he takes him back to bed.  Bonding with the two Patricks - grandpa and 2 year old miracle boy, Patrick!
Patrick learning to love his namesake... we are cherishing our time together.

Jesus, thank you for the gift of family - the gift that just gives and gives and gives!  May we find a little slice of heaven in our domestic Church/family as we share Jesus and his Bride, The Church!  We are filled with awe as we recognize the wonder of the 3 Kings following a star!  How wondrous to consider that... when we look at the full moon this night we recognize the beauty of this world.  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Amen and Hallelujah
Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
Pat bringing home his first daughter - she's in the bundle!

Now you see why she is my little Rosebud!
