The Pat and Barb Verly family and their 5 children, in laws and grandkids along with many prayer warriors have been drawn together by John's cancer... sharing daily for 8 months started this blog- Family Soul Story - Our faith, family, farm and now our cancer journey called HEALING have colored and deepened our world. WE continue to share and depend on the support of our prayer warrior community, that has lowered us into the Lord's presence for His healing!
Challanging me with pictures - "Grandma, you play with pictures." grandson, David the younger
Today Patrick is out watching his grandpa farm from the seat next to grandpa in the heated tractor with a cab... I wasn't able to grab some pictures while grandpa loaded about 30 large bales on a semi this morning with Patrick as his assistant, but I did have a challenge to pursue that brought me to these precious old pictures of Simon around a year old. Why? We were talking this morning about when John found Roger tied to a road sign, and John challenged me to find out when this took place. I reminded him that Roger was here and friends with our dog, Bonnie, before he and Lilly became companions. Really? Yes!

The cute red mitten picture.... Don't worry Roger is coming eventually, but I wanted to share these great ones, too. I was humbled this morning by grandson David the younger - he just turned 5, and was asking me about the games along the side of the facebook page. "I don't know anything about those games, I don't play them." I told him with a swelling sense of superiority. "No, but grandma you play with pictures." "Yes, you are right Dave." and the wind was let out of this blow-hard like I had been pricked with a pin called "Get Real!"
One year old Simon with our cat, Tom-Tom. We now have a cat named, Herbie, who looks just like him that it seems like it was one very long-living cat!
Finally one with Roger and Simon in early spring of 2005! Roger came, according to the pictures, in early spring of 2005, and yes he was a friend and companion with our previous cowdog, Bonnie, who was killed on the road when she ran out in front of a car while running with the tractor with Pat. Pat had to stop at the corner and Bonnie kept on running out in front of the car! Roger had some time alone, until he was joined by our large dog, Lilly.
Baby Mary with a much younger Roger. We now realize that he has been with us close to 10 years now! John looked up her breed and they live about the longest of dog breeds - 14 years!

Another one from that day with a truck of straw behind. Dave the younger was just here and challenged me that my pictures weren't very clear and hard to see sometimes. Another blow to my ego by a young voice of reason.
These cherished pictures are so special to me... yes, I know that I am hooked and obsessed with my pictures. Once again my Dave called me on this obsession - "Grandma, why have you taken thousands of pictures?" "Because I love to share my life with others and to be reminded of how wonderful LIFE can be and is!"
From the photo shoot of Mary's 2nd birthday! It was also humbling a few days ago when Fr Samson came to visit Maria and Joseph - he had studied in Rome with Susan/Hallel. They were noticing all the pictures that cover my house and walls..."That's my mother-in-law said Joseph." Yes, I am kind of a mess.

Lord, I am humbled by the reality of my focusing too much on things rather than on YOU and my domestic Church/family. I want to become more and more yours and less attached to what dwells in the past. May I use the lessons I have learned over my life to bring the LIGHT to others. Jesus, I trust in You. Amen and Hallelujah

Therese is sitting next to me doing a puzzle in 10 minutes... she is now 5 years older than here. It is good to live in the present and to realize the blessings we are given to follow after Jesus down the narrow path to LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT - Jesus and his Bride, The Church!
