Pat with his mom this morning - as an Eucharistic minister he can bring mom the Bread of LIFE/Jesus in his Body. This precious picture of Pat feeding his mother and the intent faith filled looks on their faces as they acknowledge that this is Jesus!! Such a wonderful moment in which Pat can care for his mom's spiritual needs in such a deep and personal way surrounded by our family sharing Jesus in his Word as well as the Sacrament of LIFE - the Eucharist!
Such a sweet picture of my parents! Mom had just told us that our Friday fast meal would be creamed tuna on toast! I hadn't had that for 40+ years, so I was certainly excited and my dad thought it was a great idea, too!
My mom just called with an update on dad. No, he did not come home today, because he had some atrial fib which they are treating with meds first. So, even though he is looking good and feeling good... it will probably be a day or so before he comes back home. "Is he lonely?" No, he is sending people home or telling them not to come. He is liking his quiet, which he is not getting much of. He is getting a lot of attention from the nurses and the doctors." My mom has been on a big adventure with my brother, Phil, today. They went to mass in Stillwater, had lunch, went down to see dad at Vets, then checked out the bowling alley/restaurant he has been hired to manage. Lord, I know that you are holding dad in the palm of your hand. It is so wonderful to still have our sharp and alert parents in our lives. Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barb
