The tree of the Cross is never without fruit!

David showing me the kittens and how they are growing today.

Much emotions dropping as the rain on me this day...  My dad is slowly recovering from his heart valve replacement in ICU at Vet's hospital in the Cities.  It went well and now to regain his strength and get rid of the many tubes he has including oxygen.  It all makes him look sick and hard for my mom and sibs to see him that way.  We all assure ourselves that his health was OKed by the doctors for this and he will come through fine.
There was a roller coaster with Nancy and Bill yesterday... they had an ultrasound and their little one was there with a heartbeat.  And then a few hours later sadly they lost it.  This same thing happened with Maria here visiting about 4 years ago now.  She had come with me from Missouri to see newborn Augustine, who just had his birthday on Monday!  So it truly did happen at this same time 4 years ago.  She was pregnant and started to spot, Pat took her into the ER and they did an ultrasound and saw the heartbeat, and the next day she lost it.  This is so mind boggling for me!  It is as though they are there showing their LIFE and LOVE with each beat of their hearts!  "Mom and dad, I am a LIFE and I am going on the heaven to be there and send my LOVE for you.  I am free from the worries of this world and someday we will meet when you come to join me."  Nancy is sad and weak today, but has a baby in her arms and can accept this.
The kittens have taken over the playhouse!

Jesus, today in the Gospel you were disappointed by the fig tree having no fruit... yet, we know that the tree of the Cross is never without fruit.  How do we know this?  First of all we look at how we gain LIFE through your Cross, and that you ask us to take up/drag/carry/embrace our cross and follow after you.  So often we see in our lives how we find LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT though the crosses in our lives!  Being open to LIFE brings us to find LOVE everlasting - those that are here with us and those in heaven praying for us and keeping our eyes focused on heaven as our goal!  May we continually cleanse the temple of our souls and not allow distractions to keep us from you.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
Playtime in the playhouse... oh the joy of having siblings to play and fight with - 6 healthy kittens!  I have Ruth's 5 kids today and you could say the same thing about them.  Nancy is finding comfort in her 3 little ones, too.  And Maria has been blessed by her 4 with her and 2 in heaven.  As Therese says; "When we get to heaven we are going to have to have a big van for all those kids!"  You certainly know that they are each a LIFE and we hope to meet them someday, Therese!  Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
How can I be sad with this sweet face looking at me with such JOY and adoring eyes?  Impossible!
Two for good measure...

I have become a big fan of this woman's wisdom!

Both brought salvation into our world!  And both speak so powerfully of humility we are called to.  I am getting a large dose today and it is painful to say the least!

A heart beating with love and life and light no matter how short we will cherish always!
From Maria's sharing yesterday calling it Romeo is tied to her apron strings...  Yes, she is very loved and blessed!
