Pat, Paul and John are busy with the cattle this morning... picking out the 12 replacement heifers to add to the herd from this crop of calves born last winter. John's girlfriend pointed out that they needed to "be cute and fluffy." I agree with that, but the men look for other things like big butts and good legs.
How I love to have little clothing in my wash, and with the comings and goings of family in our home... it happens on a regular basis.
You would think that I would learn that what I think a day will hold in the morning probably will be much different when all is said and done. I still find it hard to turn off the oven and stove or vacuum or computer or whatever I am in the midst of... If my blog post seems disjointed and rambling some days, that is because I have left it over and over for one thing or another over hours of time! My life is full of "fake plans" and they are usually what I thought I was going to do. It is called being a servant, but what kind am I? When my plans are disrupted... I am usually a grumpy and resentful servant. That seems to negate all the good I am hoping to accomplish, and makes it less than wonderful. When will I learn?
Pat showing his mom the cattle...
Saturdays are always dedicated to The Blessed Virgin Mary... I just had to chuckle at how much her life was disrupted by plans she had no idea for herself! She must have thought that she was hearing the most outrageous Fake plans in the world to hear the angel telling her about the Holy Spirit impregnating her with Jesus! But they were REAL, very shockingly REAL - God became man in her womb, and she gave birth and raised God/man as a LIGHT along with his Foster Father, Joseph. So amazing because of her "Yes."
Cat in a tree, little boy and a clothesline... fills me with warmth and contentment and fond memories brought back to me!Not only did Jesus come to dwell as a man, but he died and rose to overcome sin and death, as St Paul reminds us today in Romans 8... If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through his Spirit that dwells in you. Romans 8:11
Faith/Family/Farm = lots of "fake plans" that give way to real plans that fill my life with never a dull moment and LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!
Jesus, may we be a fig tree that bears much fruit to feed those that look to us to be served with Joy and LOVE! May we embrace each day and roll with the waves that come and move us this way and that... trusting in your plan and loving and serving without counting the cost. May I look at those things I want to do each day as "fake plans" and always say a willing yes to the requests and needs of those in my domestic church/family. Returning your REAL LOVE and Mercy to all around me as you have been so generous with undeserving me. Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
I made pumpkin pies yesterday without my sweet little helper... I missed her.
Love this so much!
So true for me!
My Mother of God!
