"I am not ashamed of the Gospel..." Romans 1:16

Ruth and Nancy came home with 4 pails of pie apples, so one last canning day with help!!!  It was super enjoyable for me to have the 2 girls running the corer pealers and I kept the processing of pie filling going.  We are very efficient when we do big jobs.  The kids are always there to be part of it all!  Dominic loves apples, but 2 at a time?
Romans continues today!  So exciting for me and the first line doesn't disappoint!  I am not ashamed of the Gospel.   It is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.... "The one who is righteous by faith will live."  Wow!  The Gospel/Jesus in His Word - how can we be ashamed of that?  Impossible, for The Gospel is where we gain the Goodness that fills our lives with Faith/Family/Farm!!!
The kids were enthralled by the corer pealer and had to take turns at it... Berna is very strong and would have gone on and on, but we needed to speed things along.
Bill calls Nancy and family from Mexico where he is for business... it was fun to recall that the first time Bill came to the farm as Nancy's boyfriend in October of 2009 -we made apple pie filling then, too!  Bill and Nancy ran the corer pealers 6 years ago.  Today, while on Skype, Bill watched Gus peal an apple.  How the time passes.  We were recalling what a crazy year 2009 was with John's brain cancer, Hallel taking her habit, and Nancy and Bill starting their relationship!
Many willing hard workers for the future learning from moms and grandma.
Sweet Luke's turn!
Dominic thought the peals and the cores tasted good...
The kids loved the pie filling by the bowl full!
Yummy!  Apple slices in cinnamon sugar, so good!
Great family time shared making the food that we all love and enjoy!

We need to, each day, spend time reading the Gospel and allowing the Holy Spirit to take us deeply into the Truth it has to fill us.  Reading the Gospel numerous times and praying that the Spirit will show us how we can grow in Faith from it's wisdom feeds us more and more... food for our journey!
The last apple!!!!  We had them all done by noon!  Such fun to have my girls with me to do work to put up food to feed 6 families!
These two boys came in hungry and proclaimed "Yums!" as they ate spoonfulls of salsa, applesauce, apple pie filling and barbeque from beef raised by grandpa and Luke's dad.  It gives you so much happiness to see them love all the work to make good food!  "This is why you do all the work!"

Jesus, such a good day with family and opportunity to share with my girls and grandkids our work of putting food up for us to use over the next year.  We also share about how we love you and your Bride, The Church!  So blessed to share that foremost as a family.  Jesus, we are not ashamed of The Gospel and we ask that we may share it always in our lives - most importantly in our domestic Church/family and when necessary use words.  May we live The Gospel with our lives!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
Seeing double - 50 quarts of apple pie filling will be so yummy over the next year.  Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
Birthday roses from my farmer husband still look wonderful after a week.
A wonderful sight for this old mom - two of my girls home helping!
That would be the Gospel!
