Just a setting up picture of the photo shoot I was overjoyed to do about 2 weeks ago already, but Rose is the centerpiece and the focus of the family... and she is looking out at me in such a sweet way - wide awake as she is most mornings! How we can see the face of Jesus in her! As soon as we knew of her arrival in the womb - she was surrounded by constant and endless prayers for my "little rosebud." Just as the amniotic fluid surrounded her and protected her and the umbilical cord gave her all she needed to grow and develope in HIS image... so our prayers were all around her and coming into her to let her know so deeply and internally in her sacred space that we saw Christ in her and honored her LIFE with our LOVE! The family's love of her and wanting her to join us here in our domestic church/family is such a lesson on the value of LIFE to her siblings! This is so powerfully strong in our girls and son! It is powerfully delightful to see all the ways that they manifest the value of all LIFE, and their openess to LIFE! A beautiful legacy, and Rose is the shining image of this for us, and now praying for our other two daughters and the life within their wombs! Prayers do not cease for the ones that are here, nor is the ball dropped on raising them in the Truth! This powerful image and likeness of Christ in little Rose and in each other... is a wondrous gift and lesson that keeps on teaching.
Thinking of the Church, which fills my every day with such gifts and graces... I am so wrapped up with the many aspects of The Church - the mass, the sacraments, the Word of God, the saints that fill each day with wonder, devotionals that take me deeply into prayer in the interior cathedral/simple chapel, but today I am reminded of the people that make up that Church! The title of the talk I will be giving in two weeks is called - Church, People of God - I am so focused on the Church part and it would be fun to concentrate more on the people that make up that Church - really we are to see HIS face in all those that we come in contact with, and treat them knowing that they are Christ to us! It really is such a blessing that I am freed from struggling to see HIS face within my domestic Church/family! I can easily "see" HIM there and know of his "small slice of heaven" here on earth there, so I am able to spread my wings and go out of that safe place to really look for HIM in all! I will ponder this and pray about it. That is one place where I am very much devoted - to my prayer time! I do lift many that ask for prayers as well as those that I know in my life. I do believe in the closeness to God there in prayer, and the real power of Prayer!
Lord, help me to see you in all those that I meet this day. May
I see your Church in all the people that make up this world. The feast of Your Body and Blood yesterday reminded us that you dwell within us and therefore we can know of your LOVE for all the world. We long to see your face. May we be reminded of how we need to be "constantly seeking his face...When they asked for food he sent quails; he filled them with bread from heaven. He pierced the rock to give them water; it gushed forth in the desert like a river.... So he brought his people with joy, his chosen ones with shouts of rejoicing." Psalm 105 - a grand Hallel psalm! Thank you, Lord, for getting us through this last week with John... reminding us of your care and love for us. Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Halleluia
