The Crown of Thorns revisited

Just a quick note as we wait between doctors.  The original doctor, whose email got us here just as we were about to begin a very scary type of chemo at the U of M - 3 years ago...met with us and was very interested and excited to see that John's MRI is totally clean and without any imperfections!  He feels that this was an episode related to his being prone to migrains.  He showed us the left side of the brain and how it would cause all of the very scary symptoms that he had.  The request is that he starts taking one aspirin a day, so that when it starts to spasm in the next spell that there will be no clotting at the site.  This probably will happen again, but it is hard to tell when or where.  He has no restrictions on his driving or any activity and some words of advice were to keep his life on a fairly even keel.  The stress and then the let down afterwards could cause him to have a spell.  So, John, take life as it comes and keep things on a fairly calm and peaceful pace.

As we waited for Dr Late as John will call him in his book that he plans to write about his journey... we found comfort and support from our Lady and all the angels and saints in heaven by sharing the Crown of Thorns mystery in the waiting room.  John led it as I have been under the weather since half way through the night.  It did help to share the rosary, and as Dr Late asked us on leaving his office - "How many of those rosaries have you gone through in the last few days?"  Many!  It is the rope that is holding me form the pit of utter despair - my lifeline!  Thank you, Our Lady and Jesus your loving and forgiving Son.  Jesus, we feel your loving arms around us and we trust in you!  Amen and Halleluia!

Bless-bless, Pat, Barb and John Verly
