"Stay safe, and keep the faith!"

Pat and I were out in the shade working on his swather - the phone rang and it was our son-in-law, Joseph.  He is heading out to Alfghanistan tonight!  Pat told him how proud he is that he is protecting our freedom, and assured him of our prayers.  I knew that I needed to speak to him the words of my heart, and they were flavored with tears.  My family is to the point that they expect that from me, and I have learned to talk through my tears.  I found myself telling him how much I love him, and these words pretty much describe Maria's husband's love and mission in the army - "Stay safe, and keep the faith."  He voiced to Pat that he has many mixed feelings to be leaving his wife and kids - including the newest one to be born in 3 months.  And yet excitement at this new adventure and mission in the army!  How we will miss him and our prayers will surround him over there!  He is a shining beacon of LIGHT in his faith that is openly shared in a place where it is rarely seen!

Lord, we are so wanting to support our daughter's family through this difficult time in their lives.  May our love and prayers surround them all and give them the LOVE they need to find Peace and Joy in the midst of this cross.  Jesus, we beseech you that Joe is kept safe and all the young men that are placing themselves in harms way to protect the freedom that we have here in our wonderful country.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Halleluia

Prayer for Our

"O Prince of Peace, we humbly ask Your protection for all our men

and women in service. Give them unflinching courage to

defend with honor, dignity and devotion the rights of all who are

imperiled by injustice and evil. Guard our churches, our homes,

our schools, our hospitals, our factories, our buildings, and all

those within from harm and peril. Protect our land and its people

from enemies within and without. Grant an early peace with victory

founded upon justice. Instill in the hearts and minds of men and

women everywhere a firm purpose to live forever in peace and

good will towards all. Amen."
