The babies in the tent...
Today in the Gospel Jesus teaches us how to pray - The Our Father! I would love to think that I show my LOVE for God each time that I say this prayer. For He truly is so good to me, and loves me unconditionally and forgives me no matter what I do, if I come to Him on my knees and humbly admitting that I have done wrong. There is one part of the Our Father prayer that convicts me each of the many times a day I say it - "forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those that trespass against us." This goes so deep into our hearts and souls. There is so much around us that we are constantly dealing with those that hurt us or mistep in our lives. We are asked to give to them without counting the cost. We are asked to forgive them each time, and not bear grudges, and allow our wounds to fester with infection/anger/hatred. When we hold anger inside - we become sick, and unable to go forth filled with the LIGHT that needs to be within... to share the Truth with all those we come in contact with. How freeing it is to leave those resentments and hurts behind, and to forgive, and forget, and go forward wthout that heavy load on our shoulders. What does this remind me of? Coming out of the confessional after laying all my budens at the feet of Jesus! There are times that I have felt that I am flying up to the ceiling, and will not come down for days or weeks! That truly describes what we call a Together Encouter Christ high! So often it is directly related to a good confession and then armed with the knowledge of the Lord's unconditional LOVE for us... we can go forth on fire for Jesus and a truly bright and shining beacon of LOVE/LIFE/LIGHT!
The openness to LIFE and giving selflessly to those little ones we are blessed with as mothers and fathers - shows us within our inner temple the beauty of unconditional LOVE!
Jesus, YOU fill us with a great deep humility at how YOU love us no matter what we have done. May we partake of your wonderful gift given to us in the Sacrament of Reconcilliation. Where we can lay all our burdens at your feet with great humility, and then find YOU there with arms open wide to hold us close to your Heart burning with LOVE and Mercy for us. We are shown in our own families with the welcoming of new LIFE according to your plan - not our selfish plans- that LOVE grows bigger not stretched smaller with each new arrival. LIFE is a gift which brings with it LOVE and the call to bring LIGHTS for the world. To very seriously show them the path to Truth within our domestic Church/family. Dropping them off for faith formation at Church is good, but we must be teaching them and sharing our Faith within our domestic Church/homes! We must take this very seriously and joyously! It only makes sense that our faith will grow and be held very dear if it is shared with JOY! Songs, psalms, sharing the lives of the saints with great wonder and awe - their message that no matter what you face, with Jesus at your side, you can persevere! Sharing the mass each week or each day if possible with your family - how we love when we are at mass with 4 generations sharing this moment when Heaven comes down to earth - we receive Christ Body and Blood to give us LIFE eternal! Jesus, we are overwhelmed and humbled by your unconditional LOVE for us! Jesus, we Trust in YOU. Amen and Halleluia
Bless-bless, Barb
