My dad... Father's Day Reflections

Some of my most cherished pictures of my dad these last few years have been him officiating on the altar as a Permanant Deacon in our daughter's weddings!  Here he is at Maria's wedding on June 2 - six years ago in St Marks in St Paul.
Proclaiming the Gospel

The mass concelebrated by 4 priests and my dad as Deacon assisting.  A picture of Heaven coming down to earth as Christ gives us his Body and Blood - LIFE!

My mom showing Therese a Holy medal of St Bernadette at our famiy Christmas - Cross Christmas camp

Sharing morning prayer and the rosary led by my dad is a very special close Family time of sharing our Catholic Faith - my dad led our family of 13 into the Church 41 years ago!  Just after Vatican 2, when many were leaving the Church and religious life... we swam against the tide led by my Dad, a Protestant minister, listening to the Holy Spirit!  For the entire story you can go to the page I dedicated to our journey/story - http://familysoulstory.blogspot.com/p/the-amazing-story-of-13-becoming.html

This years' family picture - we are nearing 100 with the new babies due this year!

With our two newest grandchildren last December - Patrick and Bernadette!  Thanks, mom and dad for modeling openness to LIFE to me.  Then I found my own champion for LIFE - Patrick!  "The world needs LIGHTS!"  Happy Father's Day to my dad and my husband and also to my 3 wonderful son-in-laws!  You make my heart sing!  The Holy Spirit is guiding you in all Truth!  Jesus, hold these men close to your heart burning with LOVE for them.  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Amen and Halleluia

All except Hallel - Bless-bless, Barb

All except Joe in April when Hallel had her home visit!  My dad tried to get here to see her, but the weather prevented him.  Maybe in 3 years it will work out!  My dad will be 90 then!  Now that he can hear again - let's hope for many years of his wisdom!
