There is nothing weaker than a baby, whether it be a kitten or a child. They are totally helpless and dependent on their mother to feed and care for them. Ruth has a basket of 5 new kittens, who are in their house with their mother cat. To watch them grow big and healthy and progress daily from starting to open their eyes and lift their big tummies off the ground when they walk or wobble a little less. Of course with kittens the growing up happens 20 times faster than humans - Cookie, the mother, was a kitten a year ago and now she is a mother. Bernadette might be a mom around 20 or so, she is now 7 months and still needs her mom to feed her, and care for her, and watch out for her, and to raise her to be a LIGHT to the world. I am looking at St Paul's sharing today in the first reading in 2 Corinthians 11 - he shares about all the hardships he has faced for Christ..."I will boast of the things that show my weakness." He is totally dependent of Christ to use him - no matter what there is to face, and from the many things that he share - it is truly miraculous that he is alive to face another day! We are once again sensing this miraculous presence in our lives when we look upon our little Lamb grandson, Patrick! There was a new little half minute movie shared yesterday of Patrick with the help of his 5 year old sister,Therese, walking behind a little chair. Not only is he a healed and normal little boy, but he is developing and making strides at a amazing pace in his growth and developement! He might even beat 13 month old Rose to walking! It really matters nothing in the grand scheme of things, but it just accentuates to us, once again, the miracle that happened to our little Patrick! When I think of his being in the womb without oxygen for 20 minutes - born dead! Now he is a normal, healthy and a blessing to our family!

What joy!!!! Breakfast with Pat and John and then morning prayer/office with John. We started by singing together - Morning has Broken - how mysterious and glorious is each day we are given!
"Morning has broken like the first morning, Blackbird has spoken like the first bird. Praise for the singing! Praise for the Morning! Praise for them, springing Fresh from the Word!" We are all HIS and He is in control! There are so many feelings and memories flooding me this day! Tonight is the Relay for LIFE here in town and I have decorated 6 bags for John that will be along the walk of votives. There is a picnic for the survivors and care givers and then into the night's activities - it goes all night long! The battle comes flooding over me, as I sit next to my healed son and begin our day with prayer together - just as we did throughout the battle that we faced together 4 years ago!
John and I just realized that today is the actual anniversary of Father's Day 2009 when his journey cancer/healing/Faith began for us. The words of his sister in France - Susan/Hallel when we called to tell her that there was something in John's brain - "Mom, do you remember the Gospel at mass today?" "Yes, it was Jesus calming the storm - Mark 4." "Well, this is the storm, and Jesus is in control." We are reminded over and over of the fact that we cannot do anything about our lives - they belong to Christ and He is our Way, our Truth, and our LIFE!
So much to celebrate on this anniversary of the answer to John's prayer for Faith!
Jesus, although the waves of LIFE are washing over me today... I am clinging to the raft of Your Truth and LIFE. We are so filled with wonder at how when we are lost and weak that this is exactly where you want us, and this is when we turn to YOU. We are nothing without YOU, O Lord, and when we die to self we find YOU there to take us down the WAY - the path to LIFE eternal. We are happy to come to YOU in our weakness, and to know that although we are "stoned, or shipwrecked, or beat with sticks, or hungry, and thirsty, or anxious for your Church" as St Paul was - we are healed and used to your honor and glory. There a sign today as we are so filled with wonder at the healing of both John and grandson, Patrick... to show the world that Jesus is alive and well and walking the earth healing and showing the power of Prayer and Faith in HIM! Thank you, Lord! Jesus, we Trust in YOU. Amen and Halleluia
Bless-bless, Barb
this was borrowed from Maria's blog today - the kids called to her - "Come and take a picture, mom! We look really cute!" So true! I am trying to add one of Patrick walking behind a chair to show visibly how amazing is this little boy healed and complete!
"Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning, Born of the one LIGHT Eden saw play! Praise with elation, praise every morning, God's recreation Of the new day!" Final verse of our morning hymn
"The lamp of the body is the eye. If you eye is sound, your whole body will be filled with LIGHT..." The Gospel for today from Matt 6! May we fill our "eyes of our hearts" with only that which will bring LIGHT into our lives and reject the darkness, O Lord, and Savior, Jesus Christ!
