Last night before heading to bed... I read a wonderful article in the ST Anthony Messenger by Patricia Robertson called; The Thankful Mysteries
A really positive and good article pointing out that in giving thanks we become more positive and happy in our lives even without everything being where we would like it to be..."It's not that happy people are grateful but instead the reverse; Grateful people are happier. People who complain and are constantly negative reap what they sow - greater negativity and unhappiness."
I might have to leave this in mid sharing, but I will return to it later hopefully. I am off to work shortly, so that will be why it might end abruptly..
I love the way that she created for herself these different areas of Thanksgiving! All those times that I have clung to the rosary for all those days and months with John... I must have said tens of decades over and over and thousands of Hail Marys in a day and night to keep me strong and comforted that Our Lady was holding me and interceding for me and John and his family at the foot of the Cross.... we knew that Cross closely and personally too! What a wonderful and hope filled idea to have these wonderful mysteries of Thanksgiving to uplift and praise and Hallel Him! Thank you Lord!
Her first mystery is for the beauty of creation... Living on the edge of the lake here surrounded by fields... now that the leaves are mostly off the trees in our grove... the beauty of the sunset is stunning with the silouettes of the trees... The many scattered corn stalk bales are the setting for some of my favorites pictures over the years... there is one that for me is pure Thanksgiving!
This will have to do as a replacement until I have the time to find the other. Thanks be to God... no matter what may we thank Him and be happy and cheerful in the face of all that comes our way today! Jesus, we trust in you! Bless-bless, Barb
