Walking out to the edge of the field now harvested to a soft carpet... the beans have been in the bin now for over a week... I was awe struck by the beauty of the sunset! I have shared in the past that living on the prairie was something very familiar to me... that is the view that you have living on a large body of water... a lake!
Living on Lake Michigan in the summers... coming down the hill towards Marshall when I was newly married and would see the lights ahead of me looked so familiar... It looked like Traverse City looked down about 15 miles away on the bay of Lake Michigan! Since then I have realized that living on the prairie with the visablitiy that you have due to the lack of trees, and the large fields... it is like living on a lake! Tonight I felt as though I had walked down to the shore of my lake to watch the beauty of God's creation in His sunset with the silouettes of trees ready for winter... their leaves now gone! It is a gift on this special feastday of my patron saint,ST Luke! Each day is a gift!
You touch me, Lord, with the beauty and glory of your natural world... May we be good caretakers of all that we are given to care for! Bless-bless, BarbFrom St Luke 6: 17-19
"A great crowd of his disciples and a large number of the people came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases; and even those who were tormented by unclean spirits were cured. Everyone in the crowd sought to touch him because power came forth from him and healed them all."
