The reporters down on the ground with ears of corn and a corn antler...now they should be in the know... tell me that the corn is officially out of the field and either in the bins or to the elevator! We are done with the crop coming out!
Now to get the ground worked and fertilized, and the manure hauled, and the corn husk bales finished and picked up! But rain is forecasted for tonight and tomorrow... so the crop looks to be out just in the nick of time!
The kids got to climb up on the bales for a view of grandpa's field that you can only get from a round bale on a beautiful day with Aunt Nancy here to help them... now that is special! Then Mary discovered that it makes a fun sliding hill if grandma is there to catch her! Up and down, up and down, up and down!
OOPs! They missed a few ears of corn, but Simon put them to good use..."Bless our farm! I am a lucky farm boy!" says Simon. Thank you Lord for the amazing fall... and for the window that was perfect for us to get our crop out. Amen and Halleluia!
Bless-bless, Barb
I will be working in the nursing home overnight, so don't look for me to share until later in the day!
