Fun special memory/pictures

Nancy with her beautiful wedding dress and a sweet 2 year old Therese... It was in the midst of John's battle with brain cancer, and Nancy and Maria lived in the same house close to the campus of St Thomas!  They were soon to move out of the house that was our island of peace in the Twin Cities as we had some daily trips to Rochester for John's radiation of the tumor that had returned through the chemo!  Sleeping in the same bed that I am using now in Texas night after night and reading the diary of St Faustina, and slipping out for an hour at the Eucharistic Adoration 24 hour chapel at Nativity parish.  So many powerful memories of Faith and Family!
After a nice talk with Hallel today as we all visited with her on speaker phone... this picture taken at the end of June in 2010 as we all went in 4 different trips of Verlys to say goodbye before she left for France.   It is a good thing that we all got there, as she has been gone for 2 years now and is going to be there for at least one more.  She is now part of a group that is caring for a 93 year old little sister - the oldest in the Community!  "Judith said that you would be proud of me - now that I am doing the same thing that you do in the nursing home."  I asked her what she has learned at the feet of this wise and amazing woman - "Patience."  That sounds familiar to me too... here waiting for the many days - now 9 since I arrived with no Patrick!  Patience is truly something that comes with all of life, and if we learn to be patient all that comes to us will be less stressful and more joyful.  It was so wonderful to talk and laugh with Hallel and share the lessons we are both learning as life comes to us according to the divine plan.  Jesus, we thank you and trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb
A sweet picture of Therese embracing a statue of ST Bernadette at the ordination of her Godfather to the priesthood over 2 years ago... so precious and it will be even more wonderful to revisit in a few months for reasons I can't share now...  So sweet!  Of course, her miraculous visions and the miracles of Our Lady of Lourdes is hugely big for us in John's journey of cancer/healing.  Visiting Lourdes twice in 2 years starting with just months after we had first heard the word "Brain cancer" and were in the midst of our battle to save our son's life!  So many special memory/pictures - some I am only seeing for the first time here at Maria's house - her pictures.  To me they are the best of gifts!  But then I am a bit unhinged that way.  Simple things that make me happy and bring me JOY!
Nancy showing her dress to adorable little Therese and little Sisters visiting... the BEST!
