Can the paralytic be lowered into the Lord's presence over and over by his friends? Today's Gospel is about the neighbor, who in the middle night comes to ask for bread... "And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." Luke 11:5-13. But what happens when there is a huge crowd standing around the door and Jesus is inside? There is no ability to knock on the door and be allowed inside, so our friends carry us up to the roof, remove it, and then lower us down into the presence of Christ the LOVING and FORGIVING healer! And the persistence of our friends and the faith revealed to HIM by our friends never giving up and lowering us over and over into HIS presence.... He reaches out to us and heals us by the forgiveness of our sins. This is the experience we had with John and now again with our precious little Patrick! I am once again showing you a picture of his brother, David, on his first day of life... there is such a resemblance between him and his brother! It helps to visualize little Patrick without the tubes and recovering as he has been lowered into the presence of Christ by all the army of prayer warriors/friends!
The kids are home from their friends house, a good night's sleep dressed in their good clothes to go and see mom and Patrick! Therese is making a card for mom and Patrick and Dave is playing swords/Robin Hood with Kara! He was crabby with grandma this morning, but when Kara came out to meet the kids he was nothing but chatty and happy with her! Such a gift to have her here and help keep the kids happy and at home throughout all that lies ahead. There is a huge feeling of peace and trust and hope that we are being surrounded with by our friends! Thank you, Lord! We know that you are forgiving and healing us. Maria has reported that she spent a year with Patrick last night and the nurse told her that he had not had a seizure all day! "He seemed to respond to my voice and liked to have my hand on him." So great that they can be together! "He's so perfect in every way!"
I will have more pictures and more update later today. I just called Maria and she is out of the shower and having breakfast... then off to see Patrick and his doctors, who come around at NICU and do rounds about now. So prayers now would be a good thing - that we can start to realize just how much the prayer is working. WE continue to TRUST! Lord, we ask, seek, and knock and know that you are there to open unto us and reach out and heal! Jesus, we focus on you with every breath that we take and every beat of our hearts.... Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Halleluia

How I cling to this and all the prayers are filling me with such hope and as Hallel reminded me yesterday - this is His Plan, and Jesus is in control!
