In the heat of the day we walked around the outside of the museum yesterday... The kids are pointing to the army star... that is what their dad is doing for our country. He is now in Afghanistan and day to day in dangerous situations. He is flying in a helicopter from post to post now, and is very busy and in danger. We are constantly in a state of prayer for him. We also are waiting and praying for his new son in the womb, who is now a week late joining us here. The is new for us... my dad was in the army in communications, away from the fighting, before he went into the seminary and met mom. There are those aged pictures of a young man in a uniform, but we were never touched by this other than a distant memory. My dad is now using his service to utilize the veteran's hospital, and all the benefits for his hearing and other aging issues. This makes it a bit closer to home, and now with Joseph it is here in our faces and we are dealing with such a close and important member of our domestic Church - father and husband - in the midst of the ugliness of war!
The kids are not intimidated by this scary real stuff out of the last war movie you watched... they seem proud to realize that their dad is in the midst of battles. The entire experience of being here living on the largest base in our country, and seeing as many in uniform as out... it is a whole new world and you sense the pride there comes with serving our country! It was a great thing to know that Romney values the and the way that our country is a symbol of right in this world! It was a wonderful debate a few nights ago, and gave us a good feeling for the country and the .
On this first Friday... Maria has a stress test to check on the welfare of little Patrick, so if there are any issues, he could be here sooner than later. Please lift her up in prayer at 3p today, as that is when she will be having her test. It was the beginning of a more personal relationship for me with my new grandson yesterday... as the nurse put the stethoscope microphone on Maria's tummy and we heard his heartbeat loud and clear and strong! How I long to have him here in my arms, and for this long and somewhat nerve wracking wait to be over. Today we plan on getting to mass and then going to see the view on the mountain.
Dear Lord, There are always things in our lives that bring us to prayer with every breath that we take, and with every beat of our hearts. Now it has to do with Joseph and Patrick as well as each of my children, children-in-law, and grandchildren. Then, of course, it is the farmers and how busy they have been taking out the crop! Pat called to say that they were officially done combining yesterday afternoon! Thank you, for their safety and the yield they received even with the drought. When we are weak and have worries is when we turn to you, and Jesus, I want to be with you in all things, so it is good that I find myself always needing YOU! It is so true that I have many things on my heart, which only YOU can take care of - YOU are in control! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Halleluia
"Thus says the Lord: 'Let whoever is thirsty come to me and drink. Streams of living water will flow from within the one who believes in me.' " John 7: 37-38
May the world be a better place with the help of our - may we be the Good in the world! Protect all of our in harm's way.
