JOY in LOVE...

I borrowed this from Nancy's blog this morning - http://thegreatgusadventure.blogspot.com
It was taken at Sam and Kara's party.  It was such a gift to have the readings having to do with marriage  yesterday, and a great homily by Father that spoke of the way that we were created by God.  But the way that we have taken things into our own hands and made it less than the plan of God.  To see the JOY of LOVE that is found in families that put God first and share faith is a beautiful thing to behold!
I love to see that Ruth puts thought into having her family look wonderfully coordinated for pictures.  I did this with my family too!  So sweet and fun to see it now carried on to the next generation!  "Within marriage the careful, painstaking, selfless cultivation of friendship with one's spouse is not only the most joyful and rewarding of endeavors but also the most practical of occupations - 'practical,' that is, if one envisions in one's life as the most desirable thing is not career success or money or fame or comfort or reputation, but joy in love resulting from great length of days spent in the company of one's beloved."  Brother Simeon
Today in the Gospel is the Good Samaritan reading from Luke 10... such a story to remind us of how we are called to serve our neighbor as ourselves.  May we gain the LOVE from our domestic Church/family to carry forth that LOVE to all that we meet on the road... most especially those that are wounded and left for dead!
There is nothing more beautiful than the mother/child love!  Jesus, to "see" love in the form of our beloved children - the fruit of our LOVE one for the other.  Your plan is a wondrous gift of LIFE and LOVE!  We are filled with such happiness as we come to you and follow the narrow Path carrying our Most Cherished Cross - God made them male and female.  For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.  Gen 2  How we need to fight the lies of this world and protect the sanctity of marriage - One Man and One Woman!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Halelluia
Maria is heading in for her stress test this morning.  Prayers please and she goes forth trusting and with the blessing so specially given yesterday at mass!  Bless-bless, Barb

Here is one of my famous pictures - Maria about this time of year as we harvested our garden on a cool fall day.  Maria obviously is showing the temps with her cute earmuffs.  I don't think that I have grown a carrot that big since.  We continue to wait here for our little one to come.  Maria and the kids are talking to Joe on a iPad - they can see him and talk to him too!  They are currently sharing about John's professors and spiritual directors... both of them going to ST Thomas, seminary, and Catholic Studies.  It is something that they can all share in as they have been there at St Thomas, and had many of the same professors and priests just a few years ago when they went there.  John loves to talk to his sisters that have gone there ahead of him...  It is just so crazy to realize that he is now there and in seminary for the priesthood.  I think that it will help him go forward to be able to joyfully share his experience with his sisters!  He shared in the tractor that he would love to talk to Hallel, and when we told her yesterday... She said that she will try to call him maybe on her feast day - All Saints Day!
