Every little new event is so cherished and celebrated!! Today Patrick was looking at the world when we were in there. Mom usually stands on the side he is looking at, and mom moved around in the close quarters to the other side and spoke to him and touched his foot. Tomorrow the cooling cap will be gone as the 72 hours end early in the morning. It will be so special to see him without the cap and the hood that covers his head. Maria is now home, so we will have to travel there when we can get out of here tomorrow. The kids and family are happy to have her here, and we are all at peace that Patrick is stable and in such good and loving hands in NICU. The kids are adoring having Kara here to keep them busy and play with them at the park, watch movies and color. And Oma is loving her time with the kids! It is hard to believe that I have been here for just over 2 weeks now. It seems like so much longer in a lot of ways!
John called today after mass and morning prayer and shared that he is placing the many graces he has received in his journey now with Patrick. While praying the decade I pray daily - the 3rd sorrowful - the Crown of Thorns - for all those that prayed for us on our journey brain cancer/healing... I realized that the same Crown of Thorns applies for our Patrick as the only issues have to do with his brain and that he will require the MRI to truly tell us the story of what has happened to him. The MRI will not be the final word on this. As Maria says... He has started life with a huge traumatic event that could have unexpected outcomes sometime in his future. For now John, I and his family are all visualizing and hoping and trusting that there will be a pristine healthy brain in Patrick's MRI. This was the outcome for John in June when he suddenly had stroke symptoms with nothing but a beautiful healthy brain in his MRI done in the Cities and in Rochester! They were the result of his radiation and they totally disappeared after just a few hours! No tumor or bleeding in his brain! For Patrick we are hoping the news will be equally wonderful! John is now concentrating the gift of FAITH AND THE BELIEF IN THE POWER OF PRAYER.... to his nephew, Patrick Joseph! The year of Faith could not be off to a more powerful start for us!
Jesus, we have such peace knowing that Patrick is safe and quiet to heal. We know that this is according to your plan for him. He has been blessed with his Most Cherished Cross from the beginning of his life in this world. He spent those 20 minutes coming so close to you and surrounded by the angels and the saints! Shortly later he was baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and the waters of baptism cleansed him of all original sin so that he can now rest in total peace and trust in YOU, his loving and forgiving Lord along with the glorious Catholic Church, His Bride! Our Lady is also holding her infant Son out to Patrick to bring show him the Path to LIFE and LOVE and LIGHT! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Halleluia

| The Second Station: Jesus Carries His Cross "How could any human impose such a burden upon Your torn and bleeding body, Lord Jesus? Each movement of the cross drove the thorns deeper into Your Head. How did You keep the hatred from welling up in Your Heart? How did the injustice of it all not ruffle your peace? The Father's Will was hard on You - Why do I complain when it is hard on me? I see injustice and am frustrated and when my plans to alleviate it seems futile, I despair. When I see those burdened with poverty suffer ever more and cross is added to cross my heart is far from serene. I utterly fail to see the dignity of the cross as it is carried with love. I would so much rather be without it. My worldly concept is that suffering, like food, should be shared equally. How ridiculous I am, dear Lord. Just as we do not all need the same amount of material food, neither do we need the same amount of spiritual food and that is what the cross is in my life, isn't it - spiritual food proportional to my needs."
