Maria's words of Strength and Faith!

"I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to post anything here about our precious little Patrick Joseph. He was born on the 9th via emergency c-section. Due to his placenta separating from the uterine wall, he was on very low to no oxygen for upwards of 20 minutes. They revived him after delivery and he was then sent immediately to the NICU at Providence Memorial here in El Paso. He is receiving wonderful care there, but it is becoming more and more clear that this will be a very long road... a life-long road. Brain damage of some sort or another is pretty much for sure, but details and/or a prognosis will be slow in coming. We still are not able to hold him, but he is BEAUTIFUL and looks like Goliath compared to most of the other babies in there (he was 9 lb 1 oz at birth)!

I know that many of you have heard about this through my mother and/or husband's comments and posts. Thank you for your prayers and for all of your help thus far. It is SO appreciated! Joe is home now as well, which is wonderful. It is sad that such a thing had to happen to get him home early, but I'm sure that it is just the first of many blessings that we will be able to look back on as a result of our precious Patrick.

Love, Maria"
Maria wrote for the first time last night on fb and it was beautiful!  I copied it here for all that have not friended her there can be uplifted by her strength and Faith!  This is the Truth, and we that are here with her know that this is the way she is facing all that comes at us.  Your prayers are truly helping us with each step of the way!  It seems that having Joseph home safe and sound gave her the strength to share so deeply and profoundly!
They are gathering strength and hope one from the other!  Jesus, we thank and praise you for the fruit of the many years of shared faith in you that we are the foundation of this domestic Church/family!  It is allowing them to place their precious little Lamb, Patrick Joseph, in your loving and forgiving arms and Trust!  Jesus, may this year of Faith allow us to find peace in the midst of this storm!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Halleluia
Bless-bless, Barb
"But I Joseph chained
Or as Egypt's governor,
David pained
Or exalted high,
Jonas drowned,
Or Jonas freed:
What do you want of me?

Silent of speaking
Fruitbearing or barren,
My wounds shown by the Law,
Rejoicing in the tender Gospel;
Sorrowing or exulting,
You alone live in me:
What do you want of me?
Yours I am, for You I was born:
What do YOU want of me?"
St Teresa of Avila, pray for us on this your feast day!
