"Are we following in the footsteps of Jesus?"

Just had the delightful experience of redoing a memory of the past... Kindergarten graduation at Holy Redeemer School.  The school where all of our children, as well as Pat and his siblings and then another generation of his mother going to St Joseph's at her time.  It was so special and the tone was set at the very begining by a cute little sharing where Jesus came out and called the disciples to follow after him, and then they all followed the little Jesus down the aisle of our beautiful St Mary's chapel.  The child speaking at that point said a beautiful yet very powerful and thought provoking sentence - "Are we following in the footsteps of Jesus in our lives?"  She spoke so clearly and loudly and it truly reached within and made you examine how we could improve in following our Lord in our lives!  Ruth shared last year, when Simon had graduation that it was a very moving time for her to be a part of her children now having these beautiful traditions at the school in our parish.  The school that gave her a very solid and good Catholic faith along with that given her at home.  We all know that parents are the first and foremost teachers of our children, but we all agree that sending them to HRS was a good thing for them!

Jesus with his disciples - are we following Jesus in our lives?  Pat and I both have seen the difference that a Catholic education makes for kids - when we teach them on the 9th grade level... there is a big difference in what they know about their Church and the Bible.  It is a beautiful gift for us to have this for our kids and now grandkids.  Mary was glowing and happy as she found out the teacher she will have next year and the kids that will join her.

In 6 years little Rose will be standing there with her graduation hat!  So fun that the tradition continues and continues raising glowing LIGHTS to the world!  Jesus, thank you for this wonderful time for children to be supported and encouraged in their faith to love and follow Jesus always in their lives!  We are overjoyed to have the support of such a wonderful school in raising Lights for the world!  We ask that we may leave all thoughts of selfishness behind and follow you more closely as we carry our Most Cherished Cross and follow YOU!  Jesus, bless Mary as she now goes to 1st grade and soon able to receive you in the Eucharist!  Simon will be at your table next year!  WE rejoice and praise the beauty of YOUR GLORIOUS CHURCH!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Halleluia!

Simon was in class... the celebrating family!
Bless-bless, Barb

Life is such a gift!
"As the Father loves me, so I also love you.  Remain in my love... I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete."
John 15: 9-11  The amazing Gospel for today, and so true as we follow after HIM... we find true and lasting JOY and LOVE!  So wonderful!
