David is known for touching lovingly when he talks to someone - holding their face with his hands on both sides of the face to look straight into your eyes, and to have your complete attention! Here he is touching both his new little sister's fingers and has his other hand on his great grandpa's face! How he loves his farmer grandpas! He heard them talking about starting to pick rocks at lunch today..."Please, can I help you?" I think that we should get that recorded and play it back to him in about 5 years when he is asked to start helping with that hard long job!
Little Rose is just a day over a week old... she will have some great years with mom at home, and then 9 years here at this wonderful Catholic School! I hope and pray that she will be happy and have friends... her mom, Ruth, was shy and lonely at HRS. One good thing is that now she has happy memories of her years there, and is excited and happy that her children can go there and have the same experiences that she had minus the loneliness we pray!
Always on the look out for artsy pictures - Dave by this large cross window at the back of the chapel up in the balcony was pretty great! Reflecting on the Cross could be the title, or Coming to the LIGHT!
A couple hours in the pasture watching and waiting... thankfully there was a breeze to keep the biting flies away from me and the cows and calves. I was praying my rosary and the chaplet of Divine Mercy.
I wanted to capture the calves nestled into the long grass as their mothers eat the grass... On the third decade of the chaplet I pray for my sister, Mary, who died of cancer when she was 28 years old. She had a new farmer husband and a 20 month old daughter when she died, and I remember spending some time with her towards the end, and she told me that if she had to be in a wheelchair... she hoped that she could live! It was not to be, and since I was praying for her to accomplish heaven... I found myself asking her if she was happy or if she wished that she could be doing what I was doing... an overweight 60 year old woman sitting on the ground in the pasture waiting impatiently for her husband to finish his work at the back of the pasture cutting branches that were over the fence. I feel that Mary has a better place and that she is spared the hastles of this world, but she also is only able to watch and care for us from a spiritual plane. It is all kind of ramdom thinking and that is what I get from praying in a pasture in the sun and the wind - dealing with achey joints and drifting mind! There is no answer... Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barb
