While visiting my daughter up in the Cities... we walked to a nearby lake and found this absolutely perfect water lilly in the midst of a mucky area with a few lilly pads here and there... WE probably shouldn't have picked it, but my granddaughter Mary brought it over to give to me... we carefully brought it home to put in water on the table... towards evening it began to close up as it would at the end of the day in the swamp... Nature it amazing!

The reason for our time in the Cities was for little grandson, David Lawrence, to have his throat looked at while he was sedated to see why he chokes on fluids and ends up sick a lot.... Nothing was found... he was perfectly normal, so rather than a simple surgery to correct a problem. He returned home to continue to drink "honey thickened fluids" until he grows out of this unique problem that is his alone... We should be glad for his perfect normalcy...he just needs some extra special tender loving care for a bit longer!

Recently my parents moved closer from the shores of Lake Michigan to the border of Minnesota in Wisconsin! My father is a deacon in the Catholic Church and the priest from the Manistique, Mich parish that my dad has served for 12 years... bought them a statue of Mary and Joseph from statue company that makes statues for churches. My brother then came and made them this combined display case/ bookcase for their specail statues and all the books that they have digested and continue to use to grow in their Catholic Faith! They wanted the family picture which is in the center of the dispaly to be viewed between them! It is the family picture taken shortly after we got the 4 adopted brothers and sisters - I the oldest was about 16...

Everything is lush and green due to lots of rain over the last week! I had 3 of my daughters and all of my grandkids along... we all gathered at my parent's new home and were happy to see how snug they were!

Davey discovers the "cat rug" that my mom made for my sister Mary - Mary died of cancer 14 years ago. This rug brings back memories of my parents when they lived in Colman and my dad was a deacon there for 3 years! They had it in one of the guest bedrooms and the place they are in now reminds me a lot of the small rectory that they lived in there.... My sister was born on St Patrick's day - hence the shamrocks.

Family times are to be cherished and new memories are made now with my parents closer and we enjoy that so much!

To my sister's place on the lake after a big family pizza party! The water backdrop is nice, but David Joseph is so the best part by far!

Grandkids on the shore in the sun after so much rain!

Pontoon ride after the rain! Bill and Nancy just two months from their wedding! Thank you Lord for finding true love...even if it took a while!
A year ago we were in the midst of a crazy week... trying to figure out what was going on with our 20 year old son! WE had been to two eye doctors and he had gotten glasses and contact in an attempt to figure out what was wrong with his vision - it was double! It got worse by the day and on Father's Day we took him to ER and the worse imaginable was heard after the CT scan - "It is abnormal." How amazing that now JOhn is in KC with Hallel and the Little Sisters on the anniversary! They just called to say that they are there and have had supper and forgot to bring the camera! I told them to take pictures on their phones! Bless-bless, Barb
