We received an unexpected call today from our daughter in Kansas City - Susan/Little Sister Hallel.... She informed us that she will be going back to France in a few weeks! It is kind of a long story, but we are all scrambling to get down to see her and say goodbye for we have no idea how long she will be gone. A car load could be leaving as soon as tomorrow as Pat sees his window closing with all the work that he needs to do as soon as it dries up to start doing his hay! I made sure that they want carload after carload on their doorstep and her answer was fairly profound - "You are family, and we want to have you come and share with Hallel in her life here in the community."
Nancy and her fiance, Bill, had plans to go down there the weekend after this, and now unfortunately they could have company as her other sisters and brother and their assorted family members all are wanting to see her before she boards the plane and there is an ocean between us! I held it together very well until she asked in her little girl voice that shows me how much she misses her "Kids"... "can I speak to Slimey?" (her nickname for Ruth's oldest boy, Simon). It just shows me how much she misses them and she told her dad that she wants to see him and the others before she leaves! I did the predicted crying at this point - thinking about her sacrifice of not being able to see her "kids". We will give getting down there to see her... a college try, and it will be a crazy two weeks trying to all go and say our goodbyes to sweet Sue! Lord, it is in your hands... Jesus we trust in You! Amen and Halleluia! Bless-bless, Barb
