I am realizing that in order to make my blog less long... I need to give up on the "gadgets" which means the pictures with captions that are piling up ahead of my blog... I poured a lot into most of those so I am putting them into posts... so if some of the posts are looking and sounding familiar... that is why. I will try to put any new things I share now in the form of a post so that I can get them higher and you don't have to go down to find my post or not find it as my husband tells me every time that he wants to read what I have written for that day. I appologize if this is confusing... I am working to make this more user friendly and less of a puzzle to figure out. I am happy and appreciative of those that have put up with me in all of this... I appreciate to hear from some of you and your support and that means so much to me... thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I was struck with a wonderful reading from 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 that was part of evening prayer last evening... Wow! "The Lord said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness." I will rather boast most gladly fo my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me. Therefore, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and constraints, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong." This is the motto of the last year for our family! And for so many that we have shared with as they too struggle with cancer or other health concerns... How beautiful this is in giving us comfort in knowing that the cross is right where Jesus is there to meet us... He comes to us in our weakness... That is when we are looking for him hard and desperately and cling to him in our helpless and scared state... This verse has it all! The Bible amazes me and fills me with wonder and delight... it is so TRUE and RIGHT!
Another amazing thing today - "So wide is God's mercy that no sin is too great or too small for forgiveness. So much narrower is our charity that we often find the small annoyances the hardest to forgive. The more often we turn to the all-forgiving God, the more we will become like him in extending the hand of pardon to others in every day circumstances." (see http://www.magnificat.com/ ) This is so true too! The ones closest to us are the ones that we struggle with the most...those little things that would not even phase us with someone we encounter... drive us over the edge with those that we live with! I do spend as much time a day as I can in prayer and I still do not have the patience and forgiveness that I should have with those closest to me! Jesus please hear my prayer... how I wish that I could not sweat the little things and truly make my home one of joy and peace and happiness. It takes a lot of prayer and reminders to myself that I am part of the problem when my fuse is short and I have no ability to let go and let God! Jesus I trust in You! Amen and Halleluia! Bless-bless, Barb
