A protective mother cow in the pasture... out enjoying a beautiful evening after the rain.

A prolife billboard in the morning light as I drive to work in Minneota... no traffic so I stop to capture how special and powerful this is to see as you drive into the town that has become so special to me over my 31 years of marriage... Many friends that I know here that worked with me at Birthright over the years and are probably behind this wonderful sign!  From the first year of my marriage... I decided that I didn't want to just say that I was prolife... I wanted to do something about it.  I joined Birthright and discovered that I was pregnant with my first daughter while I was doing a pregnancy test!  Many special friends made, and one young woman that is now a nurse working with children that would not have been here without Birthright...the night 25 years ago that her mother came into the office... scared and sure that there was no way she could tell her parents and have the baby...  She did  have Amanda Hope...her daughter now is making a difference in the world!  How many lights have been extinguished before they could touch the world with their light and love?  Many times I have cried for joy and thanksgiving when I receive Christmas cards year after year... "Thank you for helping me to see that I needed to give my daughter life."  The thanks goes to our Lord and Saviour and all the children that He cries over day after day that are not given the life that is begun through abortion!  After rain for most of the day... the sunny shadows of the late afternoon sun beckoned me.. I got a bit artsy with a fence post and the tall grass that is about to put out its yellow pollen that I am so allergic to...There are some late calvers that Pat has now put out in the patsure in front of out house... I love to look out and see them enjoying the lush grass rather than being in the barn on corn stalks... they just seem so content and happy out there... As I was watching I saw a red cow stand up and start shaking her head up and down like I was a threat... when I walked down the driveway... I could see a calf in the tall grass that she was protecting from this funny stranger with something in her hands that she was aiming and shooting in their direction - my camera! The adorable red and white calf lifts its head to look at me but must have just filled its' belly with mama's milk and is not wanting to stand up and move... that sun feels mighty nice too after a rainy day...  There were other calves in  the grass that are totally hidden except for a dark spot in the tall grass here and there.  They feel safe and content with mom close by!When we lived over where we had  the 4 girls in a small house on hwy 59 - we had 7 grain bins behind us and I told my husband that I felt like I lived in the inner city and that an old red barn is much prettier.  Pat disagreed and I am starting tosee the beauty of them...especially as a backdrop in black and white pictures... and the fact that they store the corn and beans that we work so hard to plant/spray/grow/harvest...  That's a pretty good reason to like them too.I think that it looks like a graceful brush stroke of green as the rows follow the curve around the edge of the field as the evening sun paints the scene with great care, and the softness of the grasses as they put out their heads and ripen to the point where they are cut for hay and baled by my husband... ditch hay or brome hay is good eating for the cows and calves in the winter. The sunlight on the different types of grasses make a speical sight in the sun.  Who would know that grass could be so pretty?Light is an amazing paintbrush... It looks like fireworks at the end of each stalk of grass... It says to me that the Lord's creation is a celebration of beauty and amazing design that the mind of God can somewhat become evident to us with how much care he puts into every single blade of grass in the field and every animal and every person within the womb and out!  The beauty of each and every flower is such a spectacle of color and intricate patterns to make our world a beautiful place one flower at a time...Life is a gift! Protect it from the moment of conception to natural death!  The Lord loves us so much more than the blades of grass or the flowers and the soybeans in the field... yet, look at how He bedecks them in splendor and glory... So much more to be bestowed upon we, who are made in his image and likeness!  Your lavishing love that never ends humbles us to the point that we fall at your feet and say...."Holy, holy, holy... Lord God Almighty...heaven and earth are full of your glory!  Hosanah in the Highest!  Amen and Halleluia!
