Pat and his sister go to Guatemala in Jan of 07 - we just got word that they are devastated by Tropical Storm Agatha!

Pat on the steep moutainous - hills that are on the edge of San Lucas - you can see the paths that mudslides follow down to flood the people below with mud and boulders! Go to the link that I have included to see what Tropical storm Agatha has done to San Lucas in the last few weeks. It is heartwrenching to see the loss to these people that have so little. At least the loss of life was not as great as it could have been before Fr Greg came there and made things drastically better! Pat was so moved by the ways that Fr Greg has improved their lives a little at a time - from cement block dwellings rather than wood or even corn stalk single room homes, health care clinic, and of course the Church around which they build their lives of faith and joy - those that have so little have that much less to seperate them from God!

Some of the beautiful children that are always smiling and happy...Pat and his sister were forever changed by their visit to our mission in San Lucas!

A family dwells here and when the mud comes sliding down the hill behind in torrential rains...the boulders and mud would not have much to hold it back with such a flimsy dwelling! Fr Greg is helping to build them homes of cement block away from the hills that could let loose and bury them in mud and boulders.  With the money donated from our diocese towards this mission in Guatemala... lives were saved in this last disasater.  To see and read about it go to this link -
