Pat and his cows

My husband, Pat, used to milk cows morning and night since he was a boy... He liked it... but we had an old barn and when it wasn't working anymore there and the government paid small farmers to stop milking... we quit milking with the dairy buyout... it was the summer of 1986 and the day before we went up to his sister's wedding... the cows left. Pat is a huge Louis Lamour fan and has always wanted to be a cowboy/rancher in his heart of hearts. So when we moved to our big farm... with nice big pastures... Pat got cows again, but these are beef cows... so for 20 some years Pat has built up his herd to now about 120 cows...they have a calf each winter/spring and then they are put into the pastures to feed on the grass and today was the day that they went out to the BIG pasture behind our house! It was an enjoyable day for one and all... Pat had lots of help and grandkids to smile at and hold during lunch! How he loves those days and how he loves to have those cows and calves in his life too!
