Pleading eyes - what could he want from me?
Most of the cows and calves are now frolicing on grass and eating to their hearts content of their number one favorite food... the grass that grows so tall and sweet after a cool spring! This little guy is still in the barn and is used to me as I have fed him bottles morning and night over the last months. Now they are eating grain and drinking water and weaned from the bottle, but I can see in its eyes the fond memory of that milk and my being the one to give it to him... I think it also smells that wonderful green smell and hears the baby calves with their mothers walking back and forth in the grass, but maybe I am reading it all into its mere look at me over the fence... Maybe its just saying in its own way... thanks for all your care of me and I appreciate it and now I am perfectly content to be here in a large barn with my friends and water and food. It's a good life and I am content. My daughter, Susan/little Sister Hallel has pleading eyes...they have lashes that slope down and her eyes look a bit droopy when she looks at you... sometimes she truly is wanting of you, but mostly it is just her... She is content and happy and I am sure tired today after a late vigil of Pentecost last night... How I would love to have been there to learn and grow and bask in the glorious light of the Holy Spirit! Come Holy Spirit - Fill us with your power and love and light! Amen and Halleluia!
