The last calf of the year - is born on a banner day for us - We celebrate the end of calving with a cutie pie!

Pat was upset that I would take this picture and put it in my blog, but when I showed it to him he softened....  They will be out on the green grass of the pasture here shortly... so my picture could change sometime today!  It is a girl - heifer... an adorable look alike of its mother... Our last calf was born on the day of our meeting 33 years ago and the vigil of the amazing feast day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus - I think that her unofficial name will be "Annie" short for anniversary of the first day of the rest of my life which I describe as "never a dull moment"...She is tall and lanky - Pat called her "horsey" this morning... it looks like she will put on weight from her moma's milk and catch up to the others quickly!  Calving is officially over and we are celebrating by going to Sioux Falls this afternoon... just the two of us!  (He did want to bring grandkids along, but I said "no".  My husband is a lover of small children, as a matter of fact he loves all children that are his in this world to love.... whether is be his chidren or grandchildren!  It is a wonderful special blessing to his kids and grandkids, but sometimes I get selfish and want him all to myself!)
