Emotions run deep as we are in the midst of the 1 year anniversary weekend of John's cancer journey... He is cancer free for the last 6 months and that is a miracle! From the word of mouth, to the first entry on caring bridge, and now to this blog...we continue to feel the prayers that have been behind...many miracles happening.... Here is John in France! Only moments before this picture was taken his sister, Susan Angela Agnes Verly, became Little Sister Hallel and took the habit of her community, The Community of the Lamb!
John arrives in France in August of 09... Just a few weeks before he had been diagnosed with a rare brain cancer! The biopsy of his brain which was done to find this left him unable to walk on his own! One day he could not even give going to France a moment's thought, but overnight he got better to the point that within 24 hours we decided we could go! WE were all shocked and amazed! Here Susan sees him for the first time!
John discovered that with the help of his sister under his arm that he could walk... How special this was for him... the closeness and caring that this allowed his sisters to share with him and support him in a very real way! Yes, now he is walking on his own with a slight unsteadiness, but he is forever changed and dependent on His Lord and all those that lifted him up over the last year! We are all forever and deeply changed, and not too proud to know that we need all the amazing love and prayer support to continue to walk the path of cancer/healing!
